The Bachelor Inn

Nice pub with a fun crowd just off the Liffey. Didn’t try the food but the beers were as they should be and accompanied by some live music.

Literally the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. If I could give them 0 stars I would. There were 3 of us looking for a good pub dinner. No one ever brought us the drinks we ordered and no server was around– they were all behind the bar chatting and taking selfies together. We waited OVER AN HOUR for our food (mind you there were maybe 2 other tables in the place– not busy at all), then they only brought out ²⁄₃ meals. I had to go up to the bar to request my toasted special since it never came out. The server blatantly ignored me — I called out to her and she looked me in the eye then turned and walked away. When I finally did get someone’s attention and they brought my food out 10 minutes after my friends were finished eating, it was cold, not what I ordered, and had hair in it! Very very disappointing. Don’t know what we did to them but it seemed like they had it out for us– they were unbelievably rude. NEVER go to this bar if you want to eat any decent food within a reasonable timeframe. There are approximately 1,000 better places to eat in Dublin, don’t waste your time at this pit.

Terrible Food!!! We were a group of five. Typically we love pub food but this was inedible… five of us, who normally can eat stones.
–Wings appeared boiled with a clammy texture and no flavor ate two and could no even touch the rest.
–Potato Skins… How can you screw this up… two of us tried one and could not even finish it… maybe it was the microwave or weird cheese sauce on top.
–Irish Sausage — 4 of us tried it… left the dish
One of my worst pub experiences around the world… oh and when we gave feedback to the manager, he just dismissed us…

We were strolling down Bachelor Road, or walk, when I spotted this place. It looks inviting, and it was a cold and windy day.
When you come in it is warm and friendly.
We sat in the back part of the pub, which is a bit like a Men’s club with upholstered chairs and heavy wood tables, paintings on the wall and such.
It was peaceful in here, even though there was a lot going on near the front of the pub, over looking the street.
You must have a code to use the bathroom, which is small and colorful, yet clean.
A few famous Irishmen have been known to have this as their hangout, including Oscar Wilde.
You can see why, I found it tranquil to say the least.
I did really love the way the outside of it is painted, all the quotes of all the famous writers. Very interesting to me.

Bedienung wirkte überfordert. Unsere Orders mussten 2 – 3 mal wiederholt werden, bis nach mehrfachem Anlauf und diversen Bonkorrekturen endlich alle Getränke da waren. Netter Wirt. Schöné Lounge. Der anwesende Livemusiker war handwerklich gut, mit seiner Liederauswahl sorgte eraber nicht für Stimmung. Nur Depri-​Lieder, Passenger&Co. Wir sind hier trotz guter Getränke nicht alt geworden. Extrem störend: Die Toilette stank den ganzen Abend bis in den Gästeraum.

I’ve been there on business matter to recruit 2 musicians i met on the streets of Dublin. Therefor i really enjoyed my evening watching their gig. They play every Thursday, go look for them, they’re good.
I was with one of my roomates, two girls in a pub full of men, not too crowded, it was a bit embarrassing by the looks they gave us but fine. The staff is nice and here for you. At least they were for us.
I got to taste the «Black Guinness» or something that i heard about once. They put blackberry syrup in it and it’s. very sweet. I guess people not fond of the Guinness in the first place would appreciate it but i’m good with my old fashioned bitter Guinness.
I wish i’d ate there as i intended to but unfortunately after a couple of rinks i forgot i was hungry. Though it looks like the food is nice. I’ll probably go back and try it so i can update my review.
So, if you’d like to enjoy a good evening of live music in a pub, go for it.
