The Conversation Room is located on the ground floor of Trinity’s General Memorial Building(The GMB). This striking Edwardian room’s solitary function is as a recreational space for members of the Society. Complete with big and comfy leather couches, a widescreen media centre, wireless internet and an unassailable view of Trinity’s picturesque Front Square, The Conversation Room is the ideal setting to enjoy lunch with friends, unwind between lectures, or merely get some reading done. Assortments of newspapers are delivered every morning, and every Thursday night the Society hosts a reception here, following its weekly debate in The Chamber. The reception includes complimentary wine and nibbles — this, together with the grandeur, historic setting provides of the perfect backdrop to discuss the topical and international issues that guests from around the world have come to speak about. The intimate style of the debates offers students a unique opportunity to test their wits against politicians, journalists and religious leaders.
