The Joinery is an art and project space set up in Dublin’s increasingly trendy Stoneybatter area. The gallery downstairs exhibits mostly contemporary visual art, while the studio upstairs provides a space for a small group of artists to work. A photo studio is also available for hire.

I was checking out a flyer in Lilliput as I was waiting on my coffee and my attention was absorbed by a really interesting drawing. ‘What is The Joinery? Is it some sort of movement in the art world? Oh it’s actually the red door right beside us, they are a gallery that hold exhibits and sometimes music.‘ So I took the long walk next door and had a nosey around this small little gallery, in their was the artist of the work that was on exhibit. She is also the artist of the flyer that drew me in. Holly Pereira is her name and she was so welcoming. Her art explores inter-racial relatioships in Ireland, I really enjoyed her stuff, you can check it out on; Holly explained that The Joinery can be used as a gallery, photostudio or for workspace. The owners like to display the work of people that are not mainstream. You can also rent the space out. It’s worth checking out.
