How cool is it to have a library named after a semi successful RnB artist. oh if only! ;) This is by far the best looking, most comprehensive and well run library i have ever had the pleasure of using. The Ussher is the most modern library in Trinity and it makes up the U in the BLU complex of Arts Libraries in the college. It is designed in two parts. A tall structure of 7 floors, on one side all the books are stored and categorised, on the other are seating areas and desks with lights and all that jazz. the seats arnt too comfy to fall asleep in but not too hard to make it impossible to be comfortable… put it this way, little red riding hood would be delighted with them! The central area is completely open, so it is possible to look up and down between all the floors, and with huge glass windows stretching the height of the building the place is bright and airy. It is a quiet library though there is a bit of ambient noise since it is so open planned. The view are perhaps too good, and you will often find yourself looking longingly at drunken revelers at the Pav drinking in the summer sun… .one must not be distracted… one must not be… ah one pint wont hurt!
