Not sure if the owners of the Wrens actually want a review on Unilocal. This place has largely remained untouched for the last 50 years. A family run pub, reportedly the second oldest pub in Ireland, the Wrens Nest is located in the middle of the Strawberry Beds on the banks of the liffey. This is a locals bar, expect the piano player(actually more likely a fiddle or accordian) to stop playing as you enter and rest assured that if you behave yourself you may even garner a smile from the landlady — but not much more. Dont go if you are rowdy, expect entusiastic conversation or fancy décor. Do go if want to experience a lost tradition in Irish pubs … remember the pub the guy from ‘An american warehouse in london’ goes to? There you go, now you have it.
