Oh dear lord. This place certainly has… how can I put this… character? Dun Laoghaire isn’t the nicest place to drink at the best of times, particularly due to the recent closure of what was the nicest pub(40 Foot/Bodega), but Scott’s really is in a league of its own. When Lime was still across the road, Scott’s was still the worse of two evils. Now with Lime gone, I shudder to think of what’s become of it! A local for the local Dún Laoghaire-ites, it’s generally shunned by those with standards, for good reason. As a building, it’s perfectly adequate, but the people make this place what it is — hard core Dún Laoghaire, and not in a good way. Great if you’re either a pervy old man, underage, or possibly peddling something; if you don’t fall into one of these categories, the only reason to step in here is to just see what it’s like. And then walk back out. However, with the Dún Laoghaire pub scene in trouble, maybe Scott’s will pick up? Doubtful, but we live in hope!
