I realize that I’m risking family scorn here by giving this place less than 5 stars, and please remember that this review is coming from an American, but, the place is nice; the bar staff is fantastic-so easy to talk to, it’s really clean, as are the bathrooms. If you’re traveling through Ireland, Jackie’s is in a beautiful part of town, right near the Blackrock Beach(a must stop for any tourist) and worth stopping into. Here’s why I didn’t give it 5 stars; if you’re a beer and cider fan, you’re golden. if you’re not, I found the mixer selection to be a bit limited. Smirnoff is the highest grade of vodka you can get(my wonderful, enabling husband actually asked the owners if he could bring in a bottle of something else for me and still pay for the drinks… hey, he tried) and the amount you get is VERYCAREFULLYMEASUREDANDPOURED. Very carefully. No free pour, no extra… again, this is from an American perspective. The cool part that makes up for the smirnoff and the teeny wee amount is how they, say, give you a Vodka/7-up. They do it with your teeny wee amount of vodka, BUT, they give you these cool mini bottles of 7 up so if you want another one, you only have to order the vodka and not another mixed drink-very cool.
