Leo Burdock

Everyone touts this as the best fish and chips but I was not that impressed. The portions are massive which is fun and the way they wrap it up is sort of a novelty BUT therein lies the problem. They wrap up steaming fried food, which immediately loses all it’s crunch by being wrapped up. There’s no way to avoid it either, you can only take the food to go as there’s nowhere to sit. Sadly my fries were soft and only bits of my fish were crunchy. The overall taste was good but come on! I want crunch!

Great chips and burgers! This is definitely my ‘go to’ chipper, it’s perfect every time!

Tasty large pieces of fish and nice thick steak-​fry style chips, for those of you versed in American potato products.
I also enjoyed the curry sauce that you could purchase on the side. Definitely a good late-​night snack after wandering the pubs…

Leo Burdocks is pretty good for fish & chips. Their fries are frozen, which I was disappointed at. Not sure if the fish was too (probably was). I would prefer that the ketchup and tartar sauce were free instead of having to pay 50 cents for a small tub. Glad the drink came with the meal though. It’s a popular place, many famous people stop in (they wrote «Brad Pitt’s Parents» on the list of famous people! haha). I had Sole for the fish, which was very tasty.

I think Burdocks lives up to the hype! The man behind the counter was very nice to us American’s and walked us through the menu and we ended up with the best spice burger in town!
I enjoyed Burdocks very much and its much nicer than any other knock off fish and chipper in town.
No 5 star because of lack of seating and the old newspaper is gone now. How sad :(. I know the resturant cant fix that but it made me so sad.

This shop used to be the greatest chipper in dundrum, people came from all around the area to get their chips here. And now it remains a chipper, its like this building was made just to be a chipper!
Now, i dont thinkitquite lives up to the standards of the last chipper (that was something special!) but its not too bad at all! there is nothing like a nice serving of salty and vinegary chips, yum!
It really is bad ofmeto compare this chipper to the oldone but i think sometimes the best way to measure something is to compare itsomething similar, so in comparison to the old chipper i think that the portions in here arealot smaller than the oldplace (anda bitmoreexpensive too!) and the guys behind the counter are not up for the friendly banter that you used to get. maybe this is because this is a chain chipper and not the ordinary local type.
in fairness to the place though they do make tasty chips so I am still going to give them four stars, anyone going here who has not been to the old chipperwill not be disappointed!
