A favourite wedding venue, given its gracious proportions amid sweeping grounds, with views overlooking the bay and Hook Head, the Haven plays an integral part of village life in Dunmore East. It’s not particularly known for its food — the fare is solid rather than fancy, it’s more of a watering hole, boasting one of the country’s largest collections of whiskey, malt, vodka and gin. I’ve been to a couple of weddings here, and I must say they were fun! As it’s quite a large place, you’ll need to visit with either a large party, or make sure that you visit on one of their nights of live music. Very kid friendly with a little kiddie playground, not to mention the huge garden in which it sits.
