The clam chowder is superb. It has clams and muscles in a thick sauce which tastes like stew. Very good. I ordered hake w crab meat crust. It was served with a large portion of fresh vegetables The portions are generous and tasty. Service is impeccable. Will certainly come back

This is the old chef from Rogues in Ennis, he started The Dining Room in December 2010. So any good Unilocal reviews of Rogues before then, this was the chef and he’s brought all his skills here! So I’ve been hearing great stuff about this place for ages but I only got around to going here today for lunch. They have a good deal of main and a mini-dessert for € 10. I got the Chicken Breast stuffed with Cream Cheese and it was very good. Just the small details were taken care of. The chips weren’t the usual restaurant fare and were nicer than normal. The veg had been buttered to give extra taste, the cream cheese was strong and went really well with the chicken. Presentation was great as well if you care about that sort of thing. For Mini Dessert I got the ubiquitous Bailey’s Cheesecake but it was tastier than anywhere else I’ve eaten! I don’t know how or why, maybe it was fresher or they store it better or something. I tasted my friends Chocolate Brownie dessert and it was great as well, vibrant taste and I’m getting it the next time. All in all, the best place to eat in Ennis at the moment in my opinion. Just attention to food detail is evident, I suppose that’s all you need for a great restauarant.
