Terrible food. For € 7.95 half quesadilla with taco fries and a can of coke. Really awful. Bland mushy overcooked food. The fries were cold. The quesadilla had no flavour. I would avoid. If you want a burrito try boojum. Much better.

If you are travelling and are absolutely desperate for Mexican food, it’s worth a try as long as you go in knowing that it isn’t going to be like real Mexican food. It’s an Ireland interpretation of Mexican food — there are tortillas, there are chips, there are beans. But, overall, it’s not good. The salsa is ketchup, I’m pretty sure. No spiciness in anything at all. At first, I was so glad to see a tortilla that I didn’t care what it tasted like, but after a few bites I realized it was pretty gross. An extra star for at least trying to run a Mexican-ish restaurant in Ireland.

Ugh. Bad burrito. Bad, bland, messy roll of luke warm garbage. Avoid. Undercooked rice, bland, overcooked steak. No salsa, no crema, no flavor. Tortillas that flop open and dump the shitty contents on the diner’s lap. No bueno.

Not really Mexican. At all. But still good in its own sense. Large, filling portions, not too expensive, and some interesting music playing. Its always fun to sit here with groups of friends. The nachos are good, as are the fajitas, but I haven’t heard anyone complain about their food. It’s just not authentic Mexican, but I’m from California, so it’s not a fair comparison.

I am from California and visiting Galway. For the past 3 weeks of my vacation I have been CRAVING Mexican food. I was wandering around the streets and ran into La Salsa. I went into it knowing that it wouldn’t be like anything I had at home but I needed goodness wrapped up in a tortilla. No shock here, it wasn’t even close to authentic but I now no longer have a Mexican food craving. Although not authentic is was filling and gave a large portion for left overs. Also, didn’t hurt that the Owner was so friendly.

I don’t know how they get away with calling this Mexican Food. At best its poor fast food, and its expensive for what it is.

Decent food but basic hygeine is absent. I asked the server how cone they weren’t wearing any gloves while handling the food/money etc. The reply… «it’s not necessary». Well actually it is, and for that reason you get just one star.

In galway for the arts fest and was badly in need of Mexican food. You can say this isn’t authentic Mexican food all you want, but most Mexican food around the world isn’t authentic. The Baja Burrito with chicken is one of the 3 best burritos I have ever had. Delicious and huge. 8 euros a steep price to pay, but it was delicious and i intend to have one every day i am here, which is, sadly, only 5 more days.

I’m gonna just come straight out and say it. James B, you’re wrong. Well you’re right, in that technically this isn’t real Mexican food, it’s like calling Four Star Pizza ‘Italian’ but that doesn’t make it any less tasty. It’s probably my favourite restaurant in the whole world, and is about 80% to blame for my secondary school obesity. Whenever I’m back home with my sisters, we always try to make a trip to La Salsa for a chicken fajita burrito and taco chicken fries. We’re generally always hungover and eat so much food that projectile vomiting isn’t out of the question, but we never regret guzzling down enormous plates of deep fried spicy goodness. La Salsa may just be a shortcut to fast food via the theme of Mexico, but if you’re gonna pig out, do it right and go to La Salsa. And trust me on this: Taco chicken fries, no onion, extra garlic.

This is NOT Mexican food. Do not be fooled by the name or the décor. The refried beans taste like sugar has been added(what?!) and the salsa tastes like ketchup with a few onions and coriander added. Unfortunately this is the only«Mexican» restaurant I’ve found in Galway but again, don’t be fooled, La Salsa is NOT Mexican. Note to owner, change your recipes or change your name/décor.
