Sheridans Cheesemongers

Nice array of charcuterie, and huge array of cheeses, with knowledgeable staff to help you choose. There is also produce available but it’s not of the best quality – stick to their main focus, cheese! Try them all.

On our two week vacation to Ireland/​UK, going to Sheridan’s was one of the best things my bf and I did.
They gave us THE best cheese plate I have ever had. That’s saying a lot because as a vegetarian I basically live off of cheese. Oh god, the Shropshire Blue and the Delice soft cheese were seriously epic.
After our delicious cheese plate, we couldn’t stop thinking about that cheese. We went into the shop and bought a few of our favorites the next day. We bought some wine and took our cheese & bread over to the river and enjoyed them together. Boom. Romantic and delicious… what more could you want?

Coolea cheese! We sampled this hard unpasteurized cow’s milk cheese and were immediately obsessed! We ordered a healthy slice of this Coolea, some oat cakes, and grabbed some sparkling juices and delicious goat cheese and red pepper sammies for a picnic the next day. I have a lovely cheese provisioner here in Barrington, but there was something magical and quaint about Sherridan’s that is unique. The young gentleman behind the counter was informative, pleasant, and accommodating, asking about our taste preferences and finding for us a variety of amazing cheeses to sample. Such a wonderful assortment of specialty and gourmet foods as well. I wish we had a Sheridan’s in Rhode Island!

If you love cheese, you must go! This is an excellent place to gather provisions for a fantastic picnic, which is what we did. They have a wide and varied selection of cheeses, meats and chilled items (olives, hummus, etc), and they make sandwiches as well. I wish I had a place like this near me, I’d eat like a king everyday

We had the pleasure of visiting this location 3 times in the 2 ½ days we were in Galway. We went on the recommendation of our B&B owners for a glass of wine before dinner, and we didn’t leave the wine bar for 2 hours. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable about their wines and cheeses, and they were able to help steer us toward some great new discoveries.
We loved Sheridans so much that we went back twice the following day for picnic provisions and again for an evening glass of wine and another incredible meat and cheese board to share.
A trip to Sheridans, either upstairs or down, is a necessary visit while in Galway!!!

OMG CHEESE AND WINE AND OLIVES. This is where I would probably have my last meal on earth. Ok, we didn’t eat here because it was 10:00 a.m. but next trip to Galway we are getting a feast of their choosing and sipping wine in their upstairs area.

I felt like a kid in a candy shop except with cheese! Experts in cheese, the employees behind the counter are friendly and knowledgeable on all things cheese and charcuterie. The small store sells fresh, local cheeses from all over Ireland, and each region has a distinct flavor. Since I wasn’t sure of what I wanted, the lady let me sample a few different kinds and discussed what could be best paired with each in terms of salami and wine. I ended up with a creamy goat cheese and a hard, nutty cheese along with a few slices of pistachio salami for an evening snack. I also purchased ready-​packaged Irish salami to savor back home in America (in retrospect, I wish I had bought more!)
Truffles, wine glasses, grapes, and a whole assortment of other food items are sold to pair with your favorite cheese. A must-​visit for anyone in Ireland!

Mmmm… Cheese heaven, I love cheese and when I went to Galway I saw this cute store with the amazing smell of cheese coming from within. I went in just to have a peak and I was amazed by the choices of cheese they had. It was not just the usual cheddar cheese that you find in most stores the actually had many options of all kinds of cheese.
Delicious cheese is always at a price and the prices are very steep but if you want something so good that your mouth start watering just smelling the delicious cheese giving yourself a treat like that once and a while it might be worth the money.
I am not sure about the service as I did not buy anything and I did not get any cheese to taste (I am trying to loose weight so treats like these are off limits till I am at my goal) but I am confident that you get the service that you need for what ever kind of food you need to cook.

This wine/​cheese store was seriously one of the highlights of our trip to Ireland! We accidentaly stumbled upon it and we are soooooo glad we did! If you are a cheese lover like we are this will be your heaven on earth. Upstairs there is a wine bar that you can order lunch or just relax and have a glass/​bottle of wine and a cheese plate. Greg is great at pairing cheeses with wines and is very happy to share his knowledge with you. The wine bar looks out over a 13^th century church and it is like you are in a diferent world.
I honestly can not say enough amazing things about this place. It is a MUST if you are in Galway and you are a cheese and wine lover. We can not wait to come back and visit Sheridans again!!!

Great place to grab a snack or some picnic fixings! 9 Euro for a 0.25kg assorted cheese and some Italian salami. The cheeses were delicious!
