Je me suis rendue au Skeff suite à un récent voyage à Galway, et après avoir lu quelques avis sur ce site.
Le Skeff est difficile à rater car juste à côté de l’Éire Square, l’une des places centrales à Galway. A peine entré, nous sommes transportés dans une énorme bâtisse des années 1900 de 3 étages.
L’ambiance y est: musique de fond, Irlandais au bar avec une pinte à la main. Mais c’est avec l’estomac dans les talons que nous avions décidés de manger.
La carte est assez simple, pleine de plats typiquement irlandais, et les prix dans la moyenne supérieure de la ville (compter 18,50 € pour un gros steak). En revanche, ce que nous avons reçu dans notre assiette ce soir là valait largement le prix — mon homme — boeufovore — a d’ailleurs qualifié son steak 100% vache irlandaise de «Meilleur steak jamais mangé». Si ça ce n’est pas un gage de qualité!!!
Service très souriant, quoiqu’un peu lent, le Skeff restera l’un de mes meilleurs souvenirs de Galway, et je le conseille à tous ceux qui font étape dans la ville :)

I went to the Skeff during my latest holidays in Ireland and after reading a few reviews here.
The Skeff is hard to miss as it’s right next to one of Galway’s main squares: Éire Square.
The first step into the building takes you back a hundred years into a magnificently kept and huge 3 story pub. The music and the Irish sitting up at the bar with their pint of larger brought extra authenticity to the place. But, it’s with a very empty tummy that we came to this place, so we decided to tackle the menu.
The menu itself is quite simple with many traditionnal irish dishes and the prices are in the top average of what you can find in Galway (18,50 € for a big steak). But what came in our plate was really worth the money. My boyfriend, a definite beef-​fanatic, even qualified his meal as «the best steak ever». That more or less puts it :)
The waiters were a little slow, but very nice. The Skeff is definitly one of my best souvenirs of my stay in Galway, and I highly recommend it to anyone who is in town :)
