The food here can be hit and miss but you cannot go wrong with their cakes. Also they have a great selection of wine, cheese, chocolate and deli meats that can be taken home. Great spot to pick up a gift for the foodie/wine lover in your life. #DublinShopsLocal

I had great expectations going in as the restaurant premises is very nicely designed and furnished. Unfortunately it all went downhill from there, the food was terrible and the service was inconsistent. My beef sandwich was horrendous and was clearly made by somebody with no understanding of food, any flavours present were drowned in a myriad of competing ingredients. My wife’s sandwich was so contrived and over complicated also it was hard to taste anything but confusion. Then the waitress served her a cappuccino that was half spiller into the saucer, amateur hour!

Ate in here a few weeks ago with my fiancé. They got my order wrong twice & the girl serving us didn’t seem at all to be bothered. She wasn’t very friendly either. By the time I did get my main my fiancé had completely finished hers. The food itself was pretty ok but service was very haphazard. Don’t thing we’ll be back too soon.

Menu has been the same here for a number of years only the specials change and even then they are a variation on a theme. Food is consistently good but not cheap. Wine list even by the glass is excellent. My bug issue with Andersens is the service. It can be very patchy sometimes. I have struggled to get wait staff attention, with regular unexplained delays. While I wouldn’t say staff are rude… it’s like they don’t care… not ideal in the hospitality industry …2 for service and 4 for food would be my overall view

Place is very pretty. Great selection on the evening meal menu. Went on a friday, some serving staff seemed a little inexperienced.(prob part time students) We ordered prosecco and she was unable to open the bottle so my husband offered to do it for her. We did order a pasta prawn dish and a carbonara came out. To be honest i wasn’t feeling very fussy so i ate it, and it was delicious. Staff very friendly. Portions were quite large. Free parking outside. Will definetly go back.

Nice little place that my friend took me to the other night. Though I don’t think it was anything really special-a tapas menu with the regular Spanish fare, and the menu didn’t blow me away, which is odd considering the display case you see as you first enter. But we ended up with a few tapas dishes and then the cheese board. They do, however, have a wonderful wine list and my friend had him Pinot Grigio and I had the Australian Shiraz, which I think was called Joker or something similar. Warm ambiance, decent service despite what others have said and nice music. I really liked it. It’s actually a 3.5 for my score. Very nice.

Wonderful. Went there on a Sunday, early evening, and was seated right away. The place is just so cool… business in the front party in the back. Deli in front-seating in the back. They gave us all the time in the world to study the menu, which was great because it was hard to choose what to order. I got the quiche with bruschetta. I had no clue the portions were that huge. The bruschetta had the sweetest ripest tomatoes on top. It could of been a meal of it’s own. Another selection had mushrooms in a creamy light sauce on top of the bread. After i was rolled out i promised to praise this place whenever i could.

When I first entered, I was blown away by the exotic selection of deli foods on display. It was a beautiful sight! Thank God there was something to look at as out wait was 50mins for a table for four! Queueing at the door with my elderly grandmother was not ideal. Unfortunately the service leaves A LOT to be desired, and(if you check out my previous reviews) generally I’m not very hard to please! Guy behind the counter was rude and almost couldn’t be bothered to be there. We never got an apology and instead they tried to seat us in their garden. It’s October. It’s freezing. That is not okay. Eventually we got a lovely seat inside and the menu was brilliant. For the standard of food the price is great. I’m a sucker for goats cheese and had a panini. Delicious. My party had a quiche, a chicken pie and a cheese board. Everyone agreed it was brilliant food. On the way out I enquired about booking a table for dinner. They do not take reservations! There’s no way I’m going out to dinner in the hopes of getting a table. When I asked about it, again the waiter was rude. I wish this place had better service, I would go a lot more often.

Oh the bread! The place was packed at lunchtime so the three of us huddled around a table for two and tucked in to some very simple but fine food. I was boring and had the baked ham and cheese on thick chewy French bread. It was delicious but my friend’s goat cheese salad inspired some serious food envy in me. The service is fast and friendly, the selection of food is decent and I didn’t see one dud dish whizz by me as other people’s food orders came in. A great spot altogether.

Great atmosphere, imaginative menu, sh1te service. Absolutely sh1te. Now, I know Ireland is not usually renowned for it’s service and you’re usually lucky to get much more than someone to take the order and bring the food. A smile and some friendliness usually makes up for that. I remember that Andersons used to be better a few years ago.

4 Stars for the food, 1 Stars for the price, you know where this going already folks! I was here for lunch yesterday, so we were just having a sandwich. The food and especially the breads are very good; I had a chicken and cheese sandwich on ciabatta bread, which came with a very small side salad. The bread was delicious, with crispy crust and a very soft middle. The contents were fine, although the chicken was lost against the cheese and the relish and the amount of filling was on the meagre side! Fiona(my better half) had a salami and cheese on a baguette, which looked very good. The baguette was thankfully not a ‘Cuisine de France’ one! As it was lunch, no wine although they have an impressive selection, we had Italian lemonade, which was okay. Now why only 1 star for the price; brace yourself, it was € 9.65 for the sandwich! The total bill came to € 25 + tip!!! It was nearly € 5 for soup if you fancied that! They do a set early bird menu which looks much better value — 3 courses for just under € 20, so as the food is excellent I’ll pop back for that. But I won’t be back for lunch…

Lively spot with nice lunchtime atmosphere. Parking is difficult to come by in this mainly residential area.

this is a lovely café with style, individual décor and atmosphere. its not in an estate but in a residental area where it serves locals and people on the way home from work and away from the hustle and bustle of the city center. its easy to relax here as its nice and quiet around and only a walk from albert college park and the prestigious griffith avenue. as for food i love the cheese platters, fruit dippers for kids and the wide selection of sandwiches. usually crowded of an afternoon. they also offer jazz evenings i think once or twice a month on a wednesday.

Almost always good. I think of the dozens of times we’ve frequented here, we’ve only been disappointed once. With a great selection of antipasti platters, salads, soups, pastas and daily specials, this little gem of a restaurant is almost always brimming out onto the pavement with hungry locals looking for a table(especially on a Sunday– get there early or late but not at rush-hour lunchtime or you’ll be waiting!!) The ingredients are always fresh and well sourced. You can buy most things from the deli counter to take away(which my other half can never resist!!) and their cheeses, olives etc are always top quality. Staff are always friendly and well turned out. Oh and the coffee is ‘gorge’ as Kate Moss would say(over and over –does she not have any other adjetives?) I digress– One of the best places to lunch in the area.

Who would have thunk it, a trattoria in The Rise! I didn’t expect much from this café deli at the edge of a housing estate, but addresses can be deceptive. Even at 2 o’clock on a Wednesday, the place was, if not jumping, at least bouncing contentedly. We were hard pushed to find a table but we did and all unimaginatively ordered typical Italian sandwiches. These were very authentic and came with all the right ingredients, not the usual«Irish panini» i.e. cheddar and ham. Although we didn’t get wine, it wasn’t because of the lack of it — the café walls also seem to serve as cellar storage — and this would be an excellent option if you were caught empty-handed before a dinner party.
