Worth the journey out to Greystones — extremely tasty and wholesome food. Very reasonable prices. The staff are so friendly and the coffee is great. I’ve been several times!

Only okay. Was really looking forward to going as I’d heard such great things about this place, but wasn’t overly impressed with anything I had. Thought the soup and bread was a little pricey too, especially when only served with one slice of bread. Cool place though, and really cosy.

Good coffee and cakes, especially for a treat after completing the bray-greystones cliff walk! Main meals are delicious and make you feel virtuous with the healthy focus. Lovely at Christmas with spiced cider and mulled wine outside.

The best food I had in Ireland so far. I seriously consider coming here from Dublin just to eat sometimes. It’s very yummy, super nutritious and makes you feel full instantly. I won’t even speak about what you should try, because you should try everything, like seriously

Awesome place with great personality! Vegan options that focus on 2 mains and a few sides per day, I tried a butternut feta cheese lasagne alongside green and fruit salads. Everything was amazing! Friendly staff, affordable prices(12 euro for main + 2 sides), cute market and bakery options(was tempted by a vegan salted caramel pie) and seating outside on the ground floor and indoors upstairs. Super cute, three min walk from the Greystones DART, would def go back and recommend to others.

Amazing and delicious food. Highly recommend the cookie and granola. I always went there on Saturdays and there was always enough room to sit right away. The staff is lovely. There are a selection of around 5 salads and a fruit salad. It is also possible to have soup or a pitta bread filled with pesto and vegetables(and cheese if requested). Everyday we can choose between 2 mains(often between a stew and a bake). Desserts are really healthy and not to sweet. The coffee is also really good. Be sure to stop by their shop.

I love this place! Maybe it’s because they offer free cake samples when there’s a big queue. Or because a lady working here actually hugged me with an extra blanket so I wouldn’t be cold while eating outside, but if anything, it just goes to show that some places really live up to the«above and beyond» ethos. Oh, and did I mention the awesome grocery shop they have just beside the café/restaurant? Go there, buy some yumminess, it’s worth it. You may recognize some of their products, particularly the sprouts, as they’re sold in certain chain stores like Fresh, all across the city. But here you’ll find some really delectable vegetables from their farm, and you should take the chance to buy some. We visited for lunch on a bank holiday and got there just as it was starting to get crazy busy. But that didn’t deter us and we pressed on. The menus looked good and were good value — they offer various combos, with soups, wraps, salads or hot dishes. We were hungry after a brisk walk from Bray, and we were craving something both healthy and filling. Their food more than ticked the box, plus it was quite tasty. We liked it so much we stayed for some good coffee and a(almost) guilt-free cake. Part of me wishes they’d have a central Dublin location, but I know I’d just be disappointed because it’s so good it’d be always overrun. But hey, enjoy the beauty of local products and businesses, right? P. S.: The map marker on the Unilocal app is wrong and places this business some doors down further away from the train station, so just beware of that.

Have now been here twice. First visit was after doing the Bray to Greystones cliff walk(that is a must do!) and we stopped here for a much needed refuel. I chose a gluten free chocolate tart which was YUM! Serving up great coffee and the staff were lovely. Second visit we drove to Greystones specifically to go here for a healthy treat. It was a beautiful sunny day. Place was jammed with hipsters and families this time all enjoying the sunshine! I just had coffee and a macaroon on this visit. We managed to nab a table outside but I think it was really badly placed between the two doors… Coffee still decent and I enjoyed the healthy treat!

Love the Happy Pear, its all about fresh, tasty, high quality and locally sourced products. Its the perfect place if you cautious about your nutrition or have allergies like me. They always have GF and vegan options and the staff is super friendly and always more than happy to talk you through the menu or recommend items. I love their Indian dal and salad mixes and you cannot beat the sweet selection of chocolate cakes or the raw slices etc. We mostly combine the visit to the Happy pear with the Cliff Walk from Greystones to Bray as its the prefect pre walk fuel stop ;) And if you worried that you might get hungry on the way or feel like a picnic half way– the food store next has lots of yummy treats to offer.

The happy pear serves Yummy scrummy homemade food like hummus and roasted red peppers salads and fresh soups and the coffee is just purrfect. As you go into the shop it seems so small but there is tons of seating upstairs and more seating outside. The menu caters for all, there is plenty for vegetarians and i think i noticed gluten free options the last time i was here but can’t be sure. There are so many lovely ingredients I don’t even miss meat in my meal. They really try to be original with their soups which is a big plus for me as most places just settle for the boring vegetable soup. The portion sizes are quite adequate and they have some specials on the board such as soup and salad for around € 7.

I finally made it to famous The Happy Pear on a lovely Spring afternoon! The sunny weather really set the mood for the day, it was a busy lunch hour but the staff were super friendly and accommodating. The menu was varied, with options for soup, a hot main or a falafel pocket with salad. I do wish there has been more salad options, as there were about 4 on offer when I was there: a potato based salad, beetroot salad, sprouts and cabbage salad. I had a salad with a sweet potato/aubergine korma for € 8.75. I also had the 54% hot chocolate that would have been amazing if it was a 70%, but when it was served to me in one of their cheerful orange cups I couldn’t help but crack a smile. It is a little cosy inside, the tables are small and close together, some of the snooty middle class clientele weren’t to my taste, but considering the area, it can’t be avoided! I loved all the wooden tables, and the mix n match chairs. Overall, a great spot for an afternoon lunch, perfect location. I’d recommend lunch here before embarking on the infamous Greystones to Bray cliff walk! You can purchase their products in health food stores around Dublin city, as well as their cookbook. Two thumbs up!

Oh happy pear… How much I love you. Mums been in charlesland golf club since I was young. So I kinda don’t remember Greystones before this place. It wudnt b the same :) The happy pear is the best place eva. Like such yum foods. The salads are epic, hot foods yum, the cakes and stuff are so good. Even tho your like«will i have a treat? I shouldn’t» you don’t get half the guilt than if you got a treat anywhere else, cause you know it’s all clean food and the sugar is gona be natural like agave or dates etc Another big pro for me is the coffee. Like when you go Costa, star bucks ect and ask what milks they have, ur gona get the standard soya milk and lots of cafes don’t even offer dairy free milk. But in the happy pear, you get to choose all the different milks. So you could b in a coconut milk mood, almond milk mood, oat milk mood. You Catch my drift. Like almond milk Capucinnos are usually only a home luxury, but Ya can get them here noooo botha :) Ther food shop next door is always craic to hit after lunch. Hummus, pestos, dips and the like are really tasty. I’ve never had the juices from the juice bar. Gona add that to my list to try next! I’m sure ther good tho. I’ve made ther juice recipes from ther cookbook at home and ther top notch. Always have to go home with some salad toppers and wheatgrass. Essential :) Ok gona wrap it up folks, it’s kinda a place I cud waffle on for pages about. So go now!!!

Quirky, yummy, hipster-packed veggie spot in the heart of Greystone. A close-to-perfect casual ending of a 7 km hike from Bray. Their daily soup with home baked bread is a filling, healthy lunch with good value for money. They also serve wine if you feel worthy of a glass after an hour and a half of hiking in Mother Nature! Cakes look yummy and looking forward trying one of their treats next time I visit.

I visited the Happy Pear on a Sunday afternoon after hearing so many good things about their healthy food. The café was particularly busy but we did manage to find a seat upstairs to enjoy our food indoors. There are seats outside but this day was particularly cold and windy! We shared the mushroom chowder, a filo veggie bake and some salads including beetroot and cous cous. The mushroom chowder really stole the show for me. The flavours really surprised me and I would definitely choose that again. For dessert we had a coconut macaroon-really nice but then i love anything with coconut!, «twix”-a healthy take on a twix bar was also delish, and a chocolate mousse cake-yum! i managed to grab a sample of their lemon lime courgette cake and that for me was the best. So disappointed not to have chosen it. Not usually a fan of citrus flavours in dessert and i was afraid of having courgette in a cake but i am happy to admit i was wrong-looking forward to a full slice on my next visit! If you have time take a stroll along the sea front by the harbour as there are some amazing views to take in.

«Simply lovely» Stopped for coffee and cake after walking from Bray via the cliff walk. The coffee was excellent which is always a good sign. Sin free cakes available which were amazing and my courgette lemon and lime cake was wonderful. A really nice place

What a gem in Greystones! A few of my derby team got together last night for some after game food and I was really impressed. The place looks relaxed and friendly– as the staff proved in their manner and attention. The food though… Stop the bus! It was delicious! I scoffed down the beet root, feta and walnut cake/topped with carrot, yes carrot hummus, roasties on the side and some salad. I’m not a fan of beet root at all, but flaming Nora, it was scrumptious! I’d highly recommend The Happy Pear, or it’s counterpart at Shoreline Leisure Centre in Greystones. Will be back for sure!

Greystones is the Okinawa of Ireland. Look around the harbour. Spot the silver surfers, the grey nomads. Licking their soft serve ice-cream and living longer than everywhere else. I think the reason might be the Happy Pear. I felt healthy just reading the menu. Fair play to the handsome pair that run the place: doing handstand push ups to titilate the customers; whatever it takes to keep them flocking back for more, eh! The food is veggie goodness. Tasty dahl, pasta bake, bean salads. But the best part: the cakes. Courgette, lemon and lime. Add to your bucket list. You won’t regret. The shop has all the coconut butter, organic lentils, samphire, tahini paste, goats milk butter and organic chocolate a person could ever need. It’s not discount retailing, but my body’s a temple and I’m worth it, you hear!

The Happy Pear is definitely an alternative way to enjoy a fresh grounded coffee, a slice of cake or even an organic meal if you are in Greystones. Usually the words«alternative» and«organic» are synonyms of being expensive food, however I found it relatively affordable considering the quality or their products(priceless). I got a cappuccino and a slice of banana & walnut cake and it was marvellous. The B side of this shop is unfortunately the space availability inside, either where your order/take your food and the upstairs sitting area are small. Considering that in Ireland the weather is usually nasty, sitting on the outside tables is a risk that you have to take in consideration. Inside it is usually packed so it becomes noisy and for me it spoils the food due to the stress of screaming children or everybody talking. So I advice you to have lunch or a coffee early or late during the lunch hours or ensure a sunny day outside, otherwise you have to face with these problems, unless you do not mind.

Well. If ever there was an oasis of a food establishment, this would be that establishment for sure. The happy pear really couldn’t be a happier, more positive place to gorge on some goodness. The food is top quality, nearly totally organic, and so wholesome that it almost feels wrong. Serving the widely-rejoiced Roasted Brown coffee, they succeed in keeping all caffeine connoisseurs happy. Offering a whopping FIVE different types of milk to accompany your cup of Jo, though, well all dairy-phobes can only be left thinking«Is there such thing as too much choice?!» I think non. All-in-all this is a great place, my one criticism would be that a plate-of-joy here does not come cheap -€ 8.50 for a salad lunch feels a bit like a «chinese burn» to my humble student budget.
