We were here to do the Kilbeggan distillery tour (also highly recommended) and arrived ravenous, so we thought we should eat something before we started drinking whiskey. That «something» turned out to be the most delicious breakfasts I’ve had in Ireland. My bf had the full Irish (which he raved about for days) and I had a somewhat lighter scrambled egg breakfast, which is a little more up my alley.
I almost marked down a star for service, which was not entirely fabulous, but really, I couldn’t — the food was just that good. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

The best meal I had in all of 2012 was a simple BLT sandwich at The Pantry Restaurant we visited 11/​01/​2012. I have no idea how such a simple sandwich could taste so delicious. The bread was perfectly toasted, not too crispy, not too soft. The mayo and the bacon had an unmistakable richness and freshness, the kinds of which might only be possible when derived from the local farms of such a wonderful place.
