I’ve been coming here ever since I was little so this place always brings a sense of nostalgia about. The gardens here are beautifully kept and so picturesque, it’s a real hidden treasure. Adult entry is € 12.50, but that includes access the National Stud and St. Fiachras Garden, so there’s plenty to do and lots to see! There is a restaurant beside the gardens, which can be pricey, but nonetheless very good! A perfect day out for the family, or a nice way to relax and unwind after a day’s shopping at the Kildare Village Outlet, only a short drive away.

We were greeted by an extremely friendly and welcoming staff member. Very helpful . Garden itself was beautifully manicured and very well done . Not much to it. it is what it is — a pretty garden and somewhere nice to go for a stroll and /or sit on a bench and contemplate. great for couples or great for even being alone with your own thoughts. ya would do it once to see what its like and that’s about it. ya get out what you put in …

Somewhere I’d been meaning to try since forever, The Japanese gardens. Finally made it in with my husband and his parents, who were over for their first visit since the wedding. IThe red bridge was very familiar from seeing photos of it many times over the years. Overall the gardens are nice, surprising in places. But I’m not sure if it’s a little worn out or wearing its age well. A warning regarding the paths around parts of the gardens would have been appreciated. We bought two OAP tickets, but there wasn’t anything said about dark tunnels and stepping stones. No obvious and clear warning signs either. But that’s my only gripe. Pleasant enough, but left a bit underwhelmed. Probably a lot better when the plants and flowers are in their full summer glory.

You really couldn’t find more beautiful surroundings to spend your afternoon in than the Japenese Gardens. It’s like another world here, and when the weather’s nice –well you’d never want to leave! The Gardens are a lovely place to go both by yourself and with a friend(but they’re smaller than you might expect so I wouldn’t recommend going with a big group). I brought my granny, who is gardening-mad, and that trip alone has bumped me up to «favourite grandchild» status!.. Gorgeous gorgeous place.

We came here after a visit at Irish National Stud. Japanese gardens reminded me of gardens in Powerscourts. Except this is better. Gardens are not as big as you’d expect, but every corner, every plot is covered with something interesting. Mostly plants. They have souvenir shop. Don’t come here on a bad day.
