Punchestown Racecourse

Yes it is a racecourse but it also open to the public on non race days. You can walk it or run it, it has a path the whole way round. Very pretty place to walk your dogs or let them run off the lease.
As a runner, I am only giving it three stars. If I was a walker or a dog owner I would give it four.
The reason being, it’s not the most challenging run. Yes there is a decent incline as you come towards the end but it feels like it’s only around 2 miles, and I hate looping round in circles. If you just want a nice light run or are new to the running game; it’s a great place to start.
But the wind tunnel in there can be a bitch. The lack of shelter causes that in my opinion. Views of the countryside are fantastic.
