Had a late lunch at the bar area. They have a separate dining area by the bar, but no seats at the bar. They also have a separate «bar» menu. The soup of the day was quite tasty and the fish-​n-​chips were well done as well. The servers at the are very polished, probably due to the fact that the main part of the establishment is considered a «fine dining» venue.

En Kilkenny nos dijeron que era el restaurante más ‘chic’ de la ciudad, pero no me lo pareció. Me gustaron más otros de los que pude probar, pero no está mal tampoco. El comedor me pareció algo ruidoso y, para ser tarde, estaba hasta la bandera. No es nada barato (tirando a muy caro) y me sorprendió que no hubiera una mesa libre. Esperaba más elaboración en las presentaciones y algo más de diversidad en la carta, pero mentiría si dijera que comí mal. Me gustó el salmón de entrante, pero no entiendo que lo sirvieran en lingote; y la carne de segundo estaba muy rica, igual que la tarta de queso de postre. Por cierto que tienen uno que es una bola de helado escondida en una bola más grande de chocolate que sirven echando chocolate caliente por encima, que derrite la bola grande para descubrir su interior. Muy curioso.

A well deserved 4.5 stars… wife and I split the sesame tuna appertizer and with the pickled veggies and wasabi mayo it was excellent… then I had the lamb 2 ways…2 perfectly cooked ribs and a Shepard pie type lamb pie… the ribs were perhaps the best lamb I’ve ever had out… and trust me I order lamb whenever it’s on the menu… the mint came thru and added perfectly to the over all taste of the lamb… wife had, and loved, the cod. This is a marvelous we’ll run restuarant… bravo to the chef.

Went with a large group for the early bird here and I have to say I couldn’t fault a thing. The food was top quality and service excellent.
Main course I had was the confit pork belly which was superb. Tender and tasty with a sweet apricot purée.
For desert I went for the simple ice cream selection. I was expecting just the usual vanilla, strawberry and chocolate combo but what was presented was something very different. I think it was a combination of hazelnut, pistachio-​mint and proper raspberry ripple. All how made (or seemed to be) and fantastic. An unexpected surprise.
Next time I’m in Kilkenny I’ll be back for more of the same.

In bar area… Food good… starter of beet root and goats chesse… beetroot felt like it was out of a jar… but not bad…20 mins after starter main course served… very long wait… main course fish was very good… service was very poor… one guy on own in bar and dealing with arrivals as well as serving… left after mains as no offer of coffee… dessert…poor guy too busy… will go back but need to do better

Service was a bit slow but friendly and attentive. Food quality and presentation was superb and fresh! We had the scallops and halibut. The halibut had fresh pea sauce and veggies that were so tasty and added so much flavor. The strawberry dessert was so flavorful! Very highly recommend!

We stayed upstairs in an amazing room and were tired from our travels. We thought «oh, it’s so lame to eat where you are staying.» Nope. Worth it. The tapas menu was interesting and delicious. Not too overpriced. We both ordered the risotto. the flavors were right on. The rice could have been cooked a bit longer, but it was creamy and comforting. The warm chicken salad was tasty and perfectly sized. The squid and root salad I ordered was a hit! Also, breakfast was divine. My companion ordered the yoghurt and fresh fruit– which looks fresh. I ordered the smoked salmon eggs benedict. Lemony and smokey. Mmmmm.

Had an amazing dinner in the restaurant here — it was truly outstanding. I started off with the smoked trout scotch egg, not something I would usually go for but I was intrigued and am glad I went for it, it was a tasty delight, amazing texture and most of my fellow diners had serious food envy! For main course I opted for the steak and chips. Not adventurous but hey-​ho it was incredible and I’m glad I went for it. It was served with the most divine chunky chips which were served in a mini-​chip pan. For dessert, we shared a passion fruit Baked Alaska, very old school but it really awakened my passion for passion fruit — I’ve been craving it ever since!
This is an excellent dinner choice, if you’re in Kilkenny you really should try it!

Wife and I stumbled upon for breakfast. Great Eggs Benedict for her and a unique sour dough toast topped with bacon, tomato, mushroom, and eggs for me. Good service, nice feel.

Wife & i stayed here the last few days on our trek across the country. The hotel was a bit pricey but we wanted to splurge a bit and were not disappointed. Very comfortable hip & modern rooms with a very courteous staff. In fact, the staff here puts in some serious hours. Each time we would return from site seeing, visit the bar, or eat in the restaurant we would see the same faces. Great bartender who pulled a good Guinness, mixed a good drink and told us about points of interest we hadn’t thought about. The restaurant had top notch food that i was not expecting. We ate other places in the city but kept coming back here because it was so good, even if it was just for dessert. Highly recommend. One of our favorite places in Ireland.

Most recent dinner with my lovely wife was another special experience: had superb course of tuna with wasabi, soya sauce & ginger.

Zuni’s is my favourite lunch spot in Kilkenny. It’s just very slightly… posher! than say Café Sol or Café Mocha. Whilst the menu is sometimes a little limited, the quality of the food, the excellent and friendly service and the light flooding in from the big windows all around make it a very pleasant spot to spend an hour (or three!) over lunch with friends. They are very accommodating for groups, big or small. Great wine list, though I hardly ever have any. A great spot, and one not to miss when visiting Our Fair City.
