Would you believe that some of the best tapas you will try would be in Ireland? I didn’t before we came here, but life will surprise you. Tried coming here one night as it was one of the places that closed later on in the center of town, but they were closed for a private event. So we tried again the next night. Great decision. I honestly don’t know how La Rambla doesn’t have a queue around the corner, but I will say, that for a rather cold Wednesday night, there was a decent amount of people in there. The staff was awesome; we met a Czech fellow here who worked the front who was truly a rare brand of friendly and pleasant. The sangria was delicious but a bit weaker than I like it, however I will chalk that up for personal preference. No item ordered was anything less than great; the seafood paella caused a rift of opinion, I personally enjoyed it but it wasn’t nearly the best item on the table. We split 5 plates two ways and it was more than enough; the steak/fries was incredibly tender and the vegetarian bread plates with oils impressed as well with the flavor each oil/sauce had packed. Add all the above positives to a stylish, darkly cool interior(with a few books while you wait for your food to join you), and there’s no reason not to try it out.

It was okay. Nothing special. We got a few tapas(vegetarian and fish) and they were so-so.

This is a great traditional tapas restaurant tucked away from the usual tourist traps. The owner/chef brings beautiful Spanish dishes to life and the friendly staff welcome you like old friends. A must visit if in the area.

Recommended as an option by our hotel. It was a lively restaurant that didn’t seem to be full of tourists, in this very touristy town. Started with a glass of wine and olive tapas. Then got a nice seat in the front window, even though we didn’t have a reservation on a Friday night(they originally had said that because we didn’t have a reservation that the wait would be 30 – 60 minutes). Ordered: * Mini-chorizo sliders. The chorizo was more like kielbasa, but the bun and the salsa were tasty. Not bad overall. * Sea bass over greens with fried potato chunks. The fish was boring(it needed seasoning or a sauce) but the potatoes were good. * Mussels came in a heavily smoked paprika broth, that also included potatoes and peppers. There was debate over whether or not there was too much paprika. Too bad bread wasn’t provided to sop up the sauce. * The blood sausage was the highlight of the meal. It was interesting and nicely flavored. * Calamari was boring, like what you get from the frozen food section in the supermarket. It had no flavor. The Tempranillo was a nice accompaniment and I liked the total lack of pretension in serving it. They just brought out the bottle, unscrewed the top and quickly poured into our glasses.

Recently stopped in for a quick bite to eat on a Sunday afternoon with my girlfriend. it is a very comfortable place and the staff are very nice. we had two glasses of red wine and a few mains. she had the Veal and rabbit. i had the chicken wings & beef skewers tapas. both were very good though the wings were a little dry but still very nice.

Even though they didn’t have a couple items on the menu, the food we were able to get was excellent. Another nice thing is that this isn’t on the main street so not as much foot traffic walking past, and the environment inside is a nice low light eating experience. The only complaints I have that gives them 4 stars instead of 5 is the service. At first they tried to sit us in some crappy little table, even though they had nicer tables available. We asked and they moved us no problem. And when it came to ordering and serving they were great, but as we finished up our food the server vanished. She never came back to see if we wanted dessert or more drinks, which we would have ordered, and spending more money. We eventually lost interest in more drinks or food, and we eventually had to walk to the counter to get a check and pay. Other than that though, fantastic place and i would eat here again.

We came here looking for tapas, and had a fine meal. We try to steer clear of eating a lot of extra bread, but the server talked us into ordering some of their bread to accompany our dishes. When the food came out, we discovered many of our tapas plates also had bread on them. BREADOVERLOAD. Other than that avalanche of carbs, the food was good. We ordered a bottle of Rioja and everything was reasonably priced. This is a great place to dine in Killarney if you’re looking to get away from the meat and potatoes.
