Best ice cream ever! My hubby and I were visiting downtown Killarney on our way back from Ross Castle. I was craving something sweet, and this place was just the ticket! The staff here are top notch! They let my hubby and I try multiple ice cream samples(mind you they were HEAPING samples). Every sample was so delicious, I could have ordered a 10-scoop ice cream cone! After our samples, I ended up getting Irish Coffee(yep, there’s Bailey’s in there) and Butterscotch(both flavors were highly recommended). Wish Murphy’s was located in California!

Local artisan ice cream. The chili pepper was surprisingly good… sweet and spicy. The sea salt was underwhelming. In all, a quality ice cream shop.

We lived in this ice cream shop while we stayed in Killarney. The staff was great about letting us try all of the various flavors. My favorite was a mix of the dungle sea salt and cookies. Reminded me a of over creamy oreos cookie cone.

Yes, to be honest with you, the prices are quite high for ice cream, and the scoops are not really that large. However, the quality is outstanding and you do taste it! Besides the usual flavours some special signature flavours are offered, and all of them are truly delicious. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and they also let you try flavours before you buy. Besides regular scoops of ice cream you can also order special cups where the ice cream is mixed together with some other ingredients. Although those cups look nice and taste good, personally, I recommend to enjoy the pure flavours because they taste so exceptionally good.

The ice cream is super good, made from milk from Kerry cows(only 1000 in the world!). They also use pastured chicken eggs, organic sugar, etc. No junk in this stuff. Great flavors like sea salt, brown bread, elderflower, etc. Staff is funny and personable, and patient. Get the caramel Mingle, it’s incredible! We came here every day we were in Killarney.

Every flavor was delicious and unique. The brown bread was fantastic. They even had gin flavored which was weird but good.

Ice cream is pricey(4 € for a small cone) but you can taste the difference in quality. Totally worth it. Had the elder flower, sea salt, and vanilla. All of them were delicious. Tip: if you want a quiet place to people watch, there’s a staircase tucked away that leads to an upstairs seating area

This. This ice cream forever. Liked it so much we came back the next night. And then hunted down its Dublin outpost later that week. You can split your small, which I appreciate, and sample to your heart’s desire The first night I had the sea salt and honeycomb. The next night I did the cookie and toasted oats. All were mind blowing, but that honeycombbbbbb

I’m going to make a point to give this place 5 stars, and not because the food was superb or anything(it was good though), but because of the service!!! How refreshing to actually be asked for our order within a timely manner and then even checked on throughout our meal in a European restaurant! Mannn the service in Ireland made me miss America, but this place was very nice

I’ve always been a fan of Murphy’s, being an infrequent visitor to their Dublin ice-cream parlour. After this occasion to Murphy’s in Killarney, I was left teeny bit disappointed. It was pricey for the amount of ice cream we got. Now I can’t remember precisely the amount I paid for two small cones, but it was upwards of 7EUR. Regarding the flavours, of the three flavours between two cones, all but one was a bit of a let-down if I’m honest. The lemon curd was not very lemony and the toasted oats was just ok. The chocolate flavour was the highlight. I would order that one again for sure if I find I’m back in a Murphy’s. Staff were nice and friendly, as usual :)

Excellent! Made from the milk of the famous Kerry cows, Murphy’s ice cream is tough to beat. Paired with their fresh organic coffee, I couldn’t have thought of a better post-dinner digestive. And hey, they’re open till 10:30 pm, so you can even enjoy some live Irish music at one of the nearby pubs beforehand! I had the honeycomb and Irish coffee combo, which balanced a tenderly sweet and rich, robust whiskey flavoring. Other milder flavors I tried were their sea salt and butterscotch, which were utterly fantastic as well. For Americans: this place is more expensive than any ice cream you’ll ever buy in the states, but that’s the price you pay for real, unadulterated food.

We visited Ireland in March, so most days were quite chilly, but that could only deter me from eating ice cream for so long! I’m so glad that when I finally caved, it was to enjoy the handcrafted desserts at Murphy’s! The flavors(about 12) were all very interesting and local themed. I sampled about half of them and finally settled on a combination of caramel and Dingle sea salt. Awesome!

Holy balls this is good ice cream. They have Dingle sea salt as a standalone flavor, and while it sounds kind of weird on its own, it’s UH-MAZING. When you pair it with honeycomb caramel, the heavens open and a ray of godly sunshine envelops your taste buds. All sizes come with two scoops, so you’re encouraged to mix-and-match, and they have a wide array of novel flavors to choose from. For the adventurous, they even have flavors like brown bread and Guinness! A small cup or cone runs ~4EUR.

Everyone knows how good the dairy products in Ireland are. So picture the creamiest, richest ice cream you’ve ever had, and then add in a great selection of exotic flavors like you would find in the likes of San Francisco’s Humphry Slocombe or BiRite. The flavors like Brown Bread and Guinness are a perfect touch of Ireland. We were only in Killarney for two days, but we managed to make time for Murphy’s twice. The second time we tried the hot chocolate and it was outstanding too. Not overly sweet like some. The cherry service just completed the experience. With shops in Dublin and Kerry, this is a can’t miss when in Ireland!

Got the Aztec Hot Chocolate and it was pretty good… the spices were mostly in the bottom, but overall it tasted good. Perfect amount of cream and chocolate on top! Also tried the brown bread ice cream which was interesting because it actually tasted like brown bread! They do have white hot chocolate – not on the menu, but in the signs around the store and my friend and I were both sad that we did not notice it before.

Video link:
