The Gleneagle Hotel

I could not recommend this hotel enough. Living in Dublin it was over a 3 hour journey to get here but was well worth the trip! We got a lovely bedroom view of macgillycuddy’s reeks. There is lots of information about tourist trips in the hotel. The breakfast service was superb and staff were extremely friendly. Would stay here again. There is a swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna free of charge to guests. The value for money was brilliant– huge rooms, big wardrobes and bath. There is also a tennis court but on my stay it was unfortunately not open.
Because you can only book the rooms with breakfast it was extremely busy in the mornings. However, the staff could manage this perfectly. There is live bands on every night, shows and free car parking. Two bars, beauty salon and shop in the hotel.
Only thing I would say that there is no fridge in rooms and spa treatments in the beauty salon could not do two people at a time. Mattress was slightly too hard and I woke up twice during the night.
There was lots to do around the area. I would recommend McSorleys bar and nightclub to teenagers and the jaunting cars up to Ross Castle is a must! Beautiful scenery along this trip!

Stayed here for three nights (out of a ten night trip) and loved every minute. Fine dinning and wonderful décor. Caught a Van Morrison show in the theater and it was life-​changing. Lots to do within minutes of the hotel, but watch for a few sketchy local looking to take advantage of your kindness.
