We were vacationing in Killarney for our honeymoon and arrived in town fairly late. We found this place on Unilocal as the only place open(it was 10:30 pm and they are open until 11 on week nights!) I was very nervous about it, especially since it was deserted inside(alright, it’s late). We ordered the meal package for two which included an appetizer of two chicken egg rolls and two BBQ beef ribs. Both were delicious though the beef was a little fatty. The entrees included were sweet and sour chicken as well as beef with veggies in black bean sauce. The beef came out on a sizzling platter and was delicious. The chicken wasn’t as impressive though it wasn’t bad. I agree with the other Unilocaler it was not quite fresh. We were also able to get rice and noodles included in this deal along with two glasses of wine(she let us switch for beer at no charge) for all we got, the price was great at 39 euro. We couldn’t finish it. Service was also very friendly and attentive. Inside is nice and it was very clean. If I find myself back in Killarney I would definitely come back.

Its one of those places you don’t really expect to be a something! We’ve found it on our trip through Killarney. We needed a food, and the choice was a quick one — a Chinese restaurant. So we went to the first place found, just on the same street as the car park, but easy to overlook :) It’s a two door entrance. The one on the right is a take away service, or should I say«Taway Service» as that’s what it says on the card. As we needed a restaurant, we were guided to the place next door. And once we get inside, the place showed it’s real ambiance! It’s a very nice, quiet and cosy restaurant. It’s a bit dark inside, with a very nice and polite waiter. We’ve ordered chicken spring rolls, and they were served with a nice sweet chilli sauce. Absolutely a must for a starter. Then we took a roast duck with a plum sauce and a lamb with garlic. A duck was very well done, crispy and tasty, and it was huge, in compare to what other Chinese restaurants can serve. A lamb was juicy, and the garlic sauce was delicious! Our only mistake was that we took a portion of fried rice each, when in the end we could take just one portion and share it. So the next time, we’ll go for one portion. The food was great, the service was great as well, but there were a couple of small faux pas in general. First thing we’ve noticed was a number of typos on the menu, and even on the card! Although the tables were nice and shiny, the lack of tablecloths was the second faux pas, and lack of napkins was the third thing. The fourth and the last one was the annoying music — a piano solo through all of the classics. Mendelssohn’s «Wedding March» killed us! So to conclude: It is a very nice place, perfect for a date, or for socializing with friends, or even for a quick lunch. Not as pricey as other places, and god I so hope they change that horrible music soon. ;) I’ll give it 4 stars in total and a green light for the future, that’s mostly thanks to the great food and a very nice waiter who served us! :)

I was dragged to this place kicking and screaming — I didn’t want to go. The food looked over priced for the same old stuff(e.g. 20 euro a dish), it looked deserted, slow, etc. I was wrong though, it was okay, plus it’s open late which is important if you’re in Kerry. My first dish kinda bombed, I got the chicken & corn soup, and could tell it was old. I have a pretty good pallet, and they’d heated it up as leftovers. I very much don’t like left over chicken, I prefer my poultry made that day(got salmonella poisoning as a kid and have never been the same). So I was pretty angry about that. I then proceeded to order my main dish which was a Vegetarian stir fry(for my gf) and a spicy beef one for myself.(I ordered beef because I was afraid the chicken would be old again) It was actually quite delicious… surprisingly so… the veggies were quite fresh, my beef was fine, the sauce was quite delightful. the décor was also pretty. They nickle and dime the hell out of you, 4 euro or so for white rice(CRAZY!) and anything else. I was actually willing to go here the next night though, so keep that in mind — so if you have the cash, I would recommend this place, the quality abides.
