Great service, nice atmosphere, husband & I both loved our dinners. Chef’s specialties.

I’ve eaten here three times with my wife and daughter and I was very fond of it for a good pint and good grub on a Friday evening. I was initially impressed but have noticed a slow decline in standards. However last weekend I was quite dissappointed. While my steak and chips were good, my wife’s Caesar salad was very poor — tired old lettuce and reheated tuff chicken pieces went unfinished. The service was so so. There’s a lot of competition out there and O’Dwyers can’t afford to offer mediocrity. This place has great potential but seems to have taken the eye off the ball. NEWSFLASH — June 2011 — service and quality are back. I’ve revisited a few times in recent months and am delighted to say that food quality and service are back to tip top standard. They have earned their way back onto my recommended list.

I have been to O’Dwyers [upstairs] many times and am always impressed. A lot of locals go on a regular basis as outsiders just dont know about it! The food is very reasonably priced [well, during the week theres a ten euro menu where the usually more expensive dishes are only a tenner and its a great selection]. The food is of great quality and the staff and friendly and good. Also the décor is lovely and the tables and chairs are cosy and not all stuck together so you can chat away without some granny beside you eavesdropping! Like it a lot.

O’Dwyers is very much a local pub, with a great restaurant upstairs. I’ve eaten here lots of times and I’ve always found the food and service really good. It’s run by a family and the kids are barmen and waitresses and I always found it very friendly and accommodating. Their’ chicken Caesar salad is yum and you cannot leave without trying their chocolate fudge cake, heated and served with ice cream. It’s a calorie explosion, but so worth it. Downstairs the pub is full of mostly older clientele — couples enjoying a few drinks and men chatting away at the bar. It always gets quite busy around sporting events too, which isn’t very surprising for a pub really!
