Excellent chicken salad and espresso. Clean, well maintained and very attentive staff. Lovely outside sitting area.

This is in a great location — the supermarket and newsagent is just a few doors away, as is the ATM — but I was left underwhelmed by the food. The service was friendly but it took 2 people to take my order, which consisted of items that were on the menu over the baristas’ heads. My panini, which arrived promptly, was made from the small rolls marketed by supermarkets as paninis by virtue of the fact that grill-like lines have been drawn across the outside of the bread. The bacon was, in my opinion, overcooked: I’ve chewed on pieces of lego that were more appetising. My coffee was perfect but I really resented paying € 8 for a coffee and a dry roll that had been lightly toasted, had a few pieces of desiccated bacon shattered into it and served up with a plastic ramekin of relish. I guess this place is okay if you’re a local and you are meeting friends for a coffee and a brownie: the premises is bright and central in a busy residential area. But I was sorely disappointed and I won’t be returning for a light breakfast any time soon. Apart from the mix-up at the till, the staff were lovely and I could see that the place has lots of regular customers who love sitting in the sunshine and watching the world go by but I really felt shortchanged.

Located next to Joyce’s supermarket, Arabica is a chain that serves a decent cup of coffee. I had an Americano for € 2.50 and my husband got a cappuccino, which comes with tons of chocolate sauce, like a mocha in the US. Lots of people here all day. Not a quiet place. Free wifi. Indoor and outdoor seating.
