We were so excited to see so so many vegan options. Unfortunately it didn’t live up to expectations. The bubbles in the bubble tea were meh at best, the wrap was decent and the crêpe was probably the best of it all. Glad to have a place the serves a lot of vegan options, bummed it wasn’t as amazing as we would have liked.

Would not recommend this place at all! I ordered directly off their menu and ordered a black tea with vanilla… First off, it tasted like I took a bite of Chapstick! It was one of the most horrible things ever! Consequently, I told the barista I did not care for it and asked if I could have a latte instead. She said yes and made me a latte. As soon as I reach for it she tells me that I must pay for it and I cannot exchange the one I do not like! WHAT?! I was completely caught off guard and then she kept telling me that she did not do anything wrong and she made the drink correctly. You would think that a small business would want their customers happy but apparently not. Nonetheless, I paid for the latte to avoid any other confrontation and left feeling cheated and lied to. I will not ever be returning to this business! It was the worst mistake!

I was excited when I saw this place, as it’s vegan/vegetarian, however i was very disappointed with the quality of food. I’ll start with some pros however, it is quite a lovely looking café, very clean and friendly! The owner and all the staff seem caring and honest. They have a great selection of food and drinks, which is nice for vegans to have such options. The juices are actually quite good, fresh fruit and veg and you also have the option to add supplements like spirulina, protein and much more to you juices/smoothies. I’ve tried bubble café 3 times because I really wanted to give them a chance and try out different dishes but each time there was some disappointment. The first time I was there I tried the jumbo spring rolls with a veggie burger. The spring roll batter was slightly undercooked and the veg had no flavouring, it was served with a sweet chilli sauce, which sadly saved it(I don’t like when sauces are used to mask the true flavours of the dish). The burger was cheap looking, the bun was just your average cheap burger bun and the burger was a frozen veggie burger with some lettuce on top. For the price I paid for the two(I think it was something like € 12) I was pretty disgusted. I felt like I was eating freezer food that I could have bought for € 3 at most(and would have gotten more then 1 in a pack) and made it at home. The second time I was there I tried their Mexican bean burrito and my girlfriend tried their sweet crêpe. I was eager to try something different from them so my opinion could be changed, however, again I was sadly disappointed. The presentation of the food was poor, there was no volume in the burrito(it was literally flat like it was pressed down) there was no flavour at all from the ingredients; inside I found a couple of diced peppers, some rice, very few kidney beans and a load of sweet corn. This was not a burrito. I was so disappointed with the lack of beans and flavour. The meal was served with chips(fries– if you could call them that) that were clearly out of a freezer pack and thrown into the oven. They were just barely cooked, soft with no crunch to them(like all chips should have) and they were flavourless. My girlfriend was also very upset with the quality of crêpe she received, presentation on the other hand was nice but everything lacked flavour. The crêpe had no taste, I know vegans can’t eat egg and so there wasn’t any in the crêpe however we felt a lack of effort to make it taste great, even though it is vegan. She could hardly finish her dish and I had no interest in finishing it for her either. I decided to give them one last try as I do want to encourage and support more vegan/vegetarian place(limerick really lacks in this). Again I was not happy with my meal and thus have given up on bubble. For the price you pay it’s not worth it. I would recommend this place for juices and bubble tea(if you’re into that. It’s not really something that I would go for; artificial sweet flavourings in tiny little balls added to hot water). As for food, it’s not a place that I would recommend to vegans sadly.

I was astounded and quite pleased that I could find a place that caters to vegans and vegetarians whilst traveling through Limerick. They had really good coffee, something I’d been missing on my travels. I opted for the traditional vegan Irish breakfast. Tofu scramble, vegan sausage, tomatoes, mushrooms, beans, potatoes, toast, and a salad all for under € 9(coffee or tea included). The food was great and the ownership was friendly. Great place, if you’re traveling through the area or even if you live here and want some vegan fare, give it a go.

I went in with a friend to try their Bubble tea and I also chose a classic crêpe with lemon and sugar. The décor is nice and the staff seemed friendly. However when the food arrived I was very disappointed. The tea wasn’t very nice and the crêpe was much worse. It was bland and literally drowning in brown sugar. I tried scraping some off but even the inside was coated with the stuff. I would not recommend this place.
