This place is fun and has a lot of character. The drinks were a fair price and it was very clean. My friend and I enjoyed ourselves.

Man, I’ll tell ya… thank God for Unilocal! It helped me once again find another great spot. This place was awesome! Looks small as you walk in and everyone is super friendly. And then you keep walking through and BAM! A huge bar in the back with an open air patio… with LIVEMUSIC! This place was packed on a Sunday. Packed and they were a fun crowd. We were so tired, but we didn’t wanna leave even at 1am. This place is a must if you’re in Limerick(and you like to let your hair down.) This would be a great bar in any city.

Ah Nancy’s, Already this has become an old favourite, old hat, auld ah jesus are we seriously in Nancy’s again sort of place. Great for a dance, good for your smoking friends, sound bartenders(one very handsome one, I’ll let ye fight amongst yereselves to figure out who ;)) The only complaint is that they let WAY too many people in on the busy weekends, and it gets very cramped. It’s not a place with a great foot-flow either, so you can get wedged into a little corner and feel like you have to stay the night. Tip: there are free postcards in by the bathrooms! For all you foreigners seeking out the joys of Limerick.

I visited Nancy Blakes on a Wednesday night in November. Eager to drink some Irish beer and enjoy some live music, my colleagues and I ventured over to Nancy Blakes. The pub has low lighting but becomes more cozy as you near the back of the pub where there was a crackling fire going. The bar tender was friendly and the selection of beer and whiskey is fairly good. Seating is not the best for a large group, but for 2 – 4 it’s a perfect spot to grab a drink and enjoy some local music. This is definitely a place I will be visiting on my next visit to Limerick.

Amazing pub in Limerick. Stopped in last night on recommendation of a kind gent that we ran into earlier in the night. Pat Fitz was playing and it was a great set, kept getting more crowded as the night went on! Really enjoyed it and would recommend to anyone stopping in Limerick.

Bad ass. Love the eclectic music section and the reasonable drinks. Women visit after 10 pm. So gorgeous.

The real deal. Unilocal came through and met my needs and had the pleasure of describing the great thoughts about the joint sitting here on Unilocal… he had no idea we were talking about them :-)

I stopped here for a quick pint and a scenery change when taking a trip from Dublin to the Cliffs of Moher, and what a treat. Once you walk in you’ll find walls adorned with dark panels of wood and embellished bar stools at the taps. My fave spot was the gianormous outdoor patio/beer garden that actually opens all the way out to the street as to what looks like an old alley. This place, it just feels right. Just under 5 € for a pint of Guinness, this spot has the old authenticity and warmth that Irish pubs are known to have. Heaps of beers on tap and cheap parking is right across the street if you can’t be bothered to park on le street. Lots of yes going on here.

This place is awesome. It’s one of the bars that you’ll really feel are authentic and worth revisiting time and time again. You get: — Old fashioned, classic bar — Outdoor space if you fancy — Dark, with candlelight everywhere — a fireplace — nice people Grab a Jameson and ginger and kick back by the fire place. Loved it.

Using their free wifi now, while a trio plays irish music in front(for the entirely Irish clientele, myself exuded). This may be my favorite bar I’ve been to in the country. The front bit is small and dark, with a 3 person bar by a fireplace. Step further in and you find a few other tiny bars, and a massive outdoor space — looks like Nancy took over the alley next door!

This is my favourite pub in Limerick. Whenever I come home I have to pay this pub a visit, and preferably have a pint of guinness. There are a few different parts to this bar, but for me the front part is my favourite, with its more traditional look, low lighting and fire place. It’s nice to come into during the day and have some pub grub of soup and sandwiches. The back area has a court yard where all the smokers, and nonsmokers can go as it’s covered over. Nancys is the kind of place that gets all kinds of crowds and is unpretentious. It can get utterly mobbed as it’s so popular, but it’s still worth a visit. Get there early if you want a seat!

Nancy’s is probably the most popular bar in Limerick. If there’s no one in Nancy’s than you can be pretty sure that your out on a bad night. Broken up into 3 bars it still gets very packed at weekends. One of the big draws is the covered in court yard where you can smoke which makes Nancy’s a draw for every age group. If your in Limerick than this is the city bar you should go to. Start here and let the mood take you to where ever else.

Found this place by accident on saturday evening and stayed there all night. Very busy, get there before 8pm if you want a seat, friendly mix of traditional pub with sawdust on floor and small-town binge drinking nightclub. euro:4.30 for a pint of carlsberg, expensive but no more so than the rest of Limerick.
