Olio and Farino is a cute Italian café/bakery, located in Limerick’s city center. My husband, sister and I split an appetizer platter with Italian meats and cheeses, olives, pesto, balsamic vinegar and ciabatta bread. Everything was very good!(Obviously not as good as the charcuterie in Italy, but really good!) The menu states that the appetizer we ordered serves two people, but this platter is huge and easily fed three of us. I wasn’t very hungry for my panini by the time we finished the appetizer. The Italian panini I ordered wasn’t as exciting as I had hoped and I wish I had ordered a salad instead. My husband and sister ordered the salads and theirs looked amazing. Avoid ordering the soda and stick with wine or water. My Coke was served in a wine glass with no ice and there were no refills. This cozy café was the perfect spot for a relaxing lunch!

This was a surprising find, well, I walk past it when I’m down in Limerick visiting family. But I wandered in and was surprised with the size inside, it was like the Dr. Who’s telephone box. I ordered a scone and a tea, and my brother ordered a muffin and a hot chocolate. The service was friendly, there was local chit-chat. Only one incident of them handing me an already opened packet of jam. No biggie, asked for an exchange. Stayed there for an hour and a half and it just had a nice atmosphere. Even bumped into my cousin meeting up with her friend for lunch. I’ll be visiting it again. It’s not too pricey, maybe I’m just use to Dublin prices though. :-)
