I had a late lunch here during the week and I had a great first impression. The inside itself is warm and inviting but still modern and clean. The server was polite and friendly, I ordered a pot of tea and a salad and it was delicious. I will definitely be coming back.

I found it very unfortunate that I listened to any reviews of this restaurant. I had the veggie breakfast and my fiancé had the full Irish breakfast and what we found was that this restaurant took perfectly good foods and made them inedible. The eggs were over cooked on bottom and under cooked on top, I don’t know how one even accomplishes that. They are eggs and that should be easy. They served them with bland mashed potatoes, tasteless hummus, tasteless«focaccia» bread, and a bucket of bland avocado mess. The avocados should have been sliced with salt and pepper and left alone or they could have added some spices, but avocado paste is horrible. The rashers were so salty they couldn’t be eaten, and the tomatoes were unflavored cherry tomatoes warmed over, being neither raw or fully cooked and of course no seasoning. They could go to the Italian restaurant for advice on focaccia, as theirs is amazing. The«focaccia» we were served was like a hamburger bun not nearly the proper consistency and of course lacking in all thing that make real focaccia great. It is just so clear they don’t have culinary talent or skill.

I really like this restaurant, I’ve been there many times and have yet to be let down by the friendly staff and great service and of course the excellent food! It’s a great place to start your day with their healthy breakfast menu. They have a lot of variety, to name a few; the veggie breakfast, avocado and egg, poached egg, pancakes and French toast with organic Canadian maple, the full Irish breakfast and much more! The veggie breakfast is great; two fried eggs, hash brown, beans, cherry tomatoes, long strips of toast(really great bread) and this amazing tasting hummus with poppy seed mixed in. I feel it’s a well cared for breakfast as you don’t find great vegetarian breakfast options in limerick. The avo and egg breakfast is delicious too, toast with avocado and a sort of sweet chilli mixed in topped with egg and some healthy greens! If you have a sweet tooth, I recommend the French toast served with maple syrup. Although for what you pay for it’s not a whole lot! Going there for lunch isn’t the best option for vegetarians, they don’t have much to offer but I would highly recommend the Hallumi wrap! Served with tasty fries and the wrap is mixed with a chargrilled veg cous cous and hallumi. For meat eaters there are many things to choose from and I’m sure it will satisfy you! Really nice atmosphere in the buttery and great even for a tea or coffee! Check this place out

Great experience at buttery. Real good service. The salads were super tasty and the gluten free bread may have been the best we have ever had.

Once upon a time this was the location of Puccini’s, and then of Café on the Row. The Buttery seems to be a step up from both of these Limerick legends. The décor is similar to what it was in 1995, but tweaked with enough imagination to make the space its own. We popped in for tea and a hot chocolate on a Friday afternoon. The drinks and service were presented with such love and attention to detail that I am already a huge fan. Fair play, Buttery people. A great café, finally, in a location that deserves the best.
