Dartfield Horse Museum and Heritage Centre

We were in Galway, Ireland for a long vacation. A quick Internet search found the Dartfield Horse Museum in Loughrea. It’s about an hour’s drive with traffic.
The facility has a Museum, but the real fun is the grounds around it. Think rolling Irish meadows — about 100 acres. They have trails for people that have never ridden before, water play area for the horses, and huge meadows with many jumps.
My 16-​year-​old daughter has been riding for the past 5 years. She was in heaven. She rode Princess, a small white pony. That pony has some moves! She can jump her height. I’m 6’2″ and they set me up with «Mr. Big».
Cost was approx. $ 35/​hour (the Euro is trading at 1.25/dollar) per rider, plus I gave a 20 Euro tip to our guide.
