Waterside Bar

The waterside is grand for a few cocktails, especially their strawberry daiquiris! They do good deals on the weekend like 2 for 10. The staff are Abit rude and the food is just ok. It’s not bad just nothing amazing. The entertainment doesn’t be the best either and it can get Abit packed and full of kids. If your looking for a meal near or around this area try the Pataya up above the waterside it’s a much better option :)

This is a nice lunch pub during work when I just can’t face the sandwich I’ve made from home, or when I want to get out of the office.
The people are usually on their lunch too from the offices close by and the chat is always buzzing.
They have a really nice lunch menu with a carvery or hot dishes, the beef pie with all the trimmings is one of my favorites, I think the cod is also quite popular.
I like that I don’t have to fight for a table and the staff are really nice also. You can get your lunch eaten and some time to relax before heading back to the office.

i never even got the chance to eat anything in here as i asked the barman if i could have a bulmers and a coke for my nephew (who was 19yrs old at the time) he asked me for ID i showed him my ID were it showed him i was 26yrs old (at the time) then he asked my nephew for ID i said he is drinking coke to which the barman replied he still needs ID… so i asked him did he check all the little kids running around for ID (its was 3pm) he said if i was gonna be smart i could piss off… lucky for me my mate was a barman there at the time so i called him over and explained why this complete muppet wont serve me and my nephew a bulmers and a coke… needless to say i made him look stupid and my mate served us… but it pissed me off i went home and ordered a curry.

My last two meals in here were disappointing and so I’ve dropped two stars for every time I’ve been disappointed. Why… the mashed potatoes were dry and tasted like reheated mash which is just not on in my books. The sauce with the braised lamb shanks was salty and gloopy. Our meal previous to that was only mediocre. A shame as we used to eat there quite regularly. We’re on the lookout for somewhere new.
