I stumbled upon this fantastic store a few weeks ago while browsing around Malahide village. It’s an ideal place to pick up a certain book you’ve had your eye on, a card you forgot to send or any little knick-​knack for a child! Basically, it’s great for last minute gift ideas! Pleasant and friendly people working there, and reasonably priced items.

Quality bookstore in a cute street in Malahide. I was rather impressed with the selection of books — the ones at eye level were interesting and quirky and not like the usual book shop fare. Fair play to Village Books for trying to diversify Irish readers’ tastes.
There is a fairly large selection of cards in store, of varying qualities, but definitely something here to suit all tastes.
The children’s and teenagers’ book sections are quite extensive and there is also a considerable selection of fantasy books. Village books has quite an array of children’s toys as well, so I imagine this would provide an excellent means of distraction for kids who are dragged here by their desperate-​for-​a-​good-​read mothers.
Village Books has a pleasant, unassuming atmosphere and browsing is not frowned upon.
