I was sorry to hear that the chain, as a whole, was having financial difficulties. I hope that they can sort themselves out, as it would be a shame to lose this shop.
Golden Discs itself is a very reasonably priced shop. I’ve found it excellent for picking up TV boxsets, in particular. They’ve also got a good selection of Irish films, something which UK franchises often don’t have.
The store in Maynooth doesn’t have a massive stock range — CDs, DVDs and some posters, and mostly chart toppers mixed with new releases and old favourites. The price of its items is its main plus. It’s a great place in which to pick up a bargain.
I’d be sorry to see this shop go.
