Above the door reads Dempsey Brothers Victuallers… I have no idea what a Victualler is… answers on a postcard please.
The sign has been there for years apparently and bears no relation to the shop under it. The shop is in fact Goggins off-​licence, a small but well stocked affair with some beer but mostly wine and a few mixers and snacks.
Next door is a superb little Indian that charges no corkage on wine you bring in yourself — nice eh?!

Don’t get me wrong I love my wine, but I’m not very learned when it comes to choosing a really nice bottle. The folk in Goggins are always helpful, and always have a few recommendations up their sleeve to suit your budget and your planned occasion or meal.
Prices are not quite as cheap here as the supermarkets or larger off-​licences, but they do good deals on rotation like 3 for 2 on popular wines.
They seem to specialise in wine, but there is the standard array of beer and spirits for sale here too.
