We did a falconry lesson with Brian at the K-Club during our vacation. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip! Brian was so funny and knowledgeable, and we probably could have had fun just hanging out with him all day(with or without birds) :) He spent a good 2 or 3 hours with us, letting us each hold all of the different birds, and then doing a bunch of tricks with the falcons where they would fly over /around us, through our legs, etc. We loved touching the owls(so soft!) and he even brought us an American Red-Tailed Hawk since we see those a lot in the wild out in California. Wow, it was huge up close! It’s probably one of the more expensive things you’ll do on vacation, but the money is totally worth the awesome experience. We also came away with a TON of great pictures to commemorate the experience. It’s even something I would do more than once — Brian has a ton of different birds so he can bring different ones each time you go. Don’t miss out on this if you are Ireland!

We had an amazing time with Brian and the birds on our last day of our Irish vacation. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and made sure we were having a fantastic time offering to take pictures and answer our questions. We were able to handle two owls, two hawks and two falcons, experience a «hawk-walk», observe him luring the falcon diving for food and other fun tricks. The light picnic compliments of his wife Barbara was a lovely touch and delicious. Remember to dress warm — it is windy up on the hill! This is highly recommended and a must-do on your visit to Ireland!!! –Lauren & Matt

We took our nephews(age 10 and 9) out with Brian on a Sunday and had a fantastic time. Brian and the birds were great with the kids who haven’t stopped talking about the day a week ago. We’d suggest bringing a snack as you are in a field with the birds for a few hours. It was a beautiful day when we were there but it would have been brilliant even in bad weather provided you are dressed for it. We had a great time and will be going out on a day with Newgrange Falconry again.
