There’s something about Newport and butchers, they seem to take greater pride in what they do than most, there are two fine examples in the little town and that’s not counting the local Centra shop which does a very respectable (and cheaper) bit of feol (I’m pretty sure that’s the Irish for meat!).
Keanes is the one in the middle if the small main street, to say they are friendly is like saying Bambi was a bit cute, really I wanted to buy up half the shop just to continue chatting to the guy… there’s a lesson in there for businesses the world over ya know! We bought striploin steak; Oh sweet jeebus it was very very very good. I need mention at this point I used my own secrete marinade before throwing the meat on the BBQ… mail me for the recipe, it aint that secrete really!
