First off, this is no longer a Marriott Resort and goes simply by the name Druids Glen Resort. This review is for the hotel and does not take into account the golf courses as I have reviewed them elsewhere. The resort is located at the Druids Heath golf course and you have to leave the grounds and drive over to Druids Glen if you are playing there, or there is an option of a fairly long walk across the Glen course. It is a low rise modern building, but has a slightly dated feel on the outside, just not ‘grand’ enough to achieve the desired goal. It is unfortunate that it is not attached to the old house which is the clubhouse at the Glen. That would have given it a more stately charm you expect. The staff in the hotel were extremely friendly, and the bar and outside decking areas are great. The spa is decent and wasn’t too packed. Food at the hotel is very good, and all meals we had were excellent. Why only 3 stars, well the room is lacking in something, all the requirements are met(large, comfy bed, bathrobes, slippers etc), but it lacks charm/character and was slightly grimy around the shower. There was also a strange smell from the A/C systems.
