After a night out in Galway, we were headed to Dublin and in search of something to eat. We passed by The Boathouse and decided to give it a try, and were quite glad we did so! We were the first customers of the day, and everything was still being set up, so we were treated to a complimentary Parsnip Soup that was absolutely amazing! Next up was the main course, which featured some of the most delicious Salmon I’ve ever had in my life. On top of the delicious food, the staff was super friendly, and went out of their way to make our meal memorable. We’re looking forward to visiting again!

We had dinner here as a suggestion of the owner at bed and breakfast that we were staying at. The outside of the restaurant looked really nice so we were excited. Once inside, however, this quickly changed. The dining room was rundown, dirty, and out of date. There was water damage on a wall by the table we were seated at by the window. The paint and plaster were flaking off the wall. Instead of fixing the damage a piece of plywood was just nailed over it. It made it look worse. The atmosphere was also very loud for it being advertised as a fine dining establishment. The only saving grace for this place was the food. We had the Hake and it was excellent. If you want to eat good food with your eyes shut and don’t care about having a conversation with your dinner mates this is the place for you.

This is my my favourite restaurant in Galway I can recommend pretty much everything I have ever eaten here but my particular favourites are, the pork terrine, the pork belly & black pudding(which is to die for) and for desert –tarte tatin. The have a great wine list, beer on draft(which my husband assures me is great !) and great service. The also have an early bird menu which is superb value € 19.90 for two courses and € 24.90 for three. The early bird also has great choices– you’re not limited to a couple of options. The produce is fresh and local — what more could ya want? Try it for yourself — this place is amazing.

Seven of us went for lunch here on a bank holiday Monday. The service was prompt and friendly. I ordered the Toulouse Sausage Cassoulet Style, which was delicious. The others had Fish and Chips, Risotto of Celeriac, and Steak Burger. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. The Sausage Cassoulet and Risotto were my favourites. Lovely quite restaurant, with well presented dishes.
