I have been meaning to review Treacy’s since I visited there in June 2015. Fortunately, the memory of the food, service, and décor have stayed with me. The layout: it wasn’t immediately clear to us based on earlier reviews what the layout at Treacy’s is. The left-hand side is a restaurant with a small bar and the right is a tight, cool, bar. You can get into either from the outside or from inside. The food: the food is local, simple and delicious. We went for dinner and then breakfast the next morning. My meal was a tender, buttery, local ribeye. It came with steamed vegetables and mashed potatoes – it was prepared with care. Quite good, especially with a few pints. The dessert was also amazing: a custard bread pudding. And just a little bit sweet – a great complement to the meal. The breakfast the next morning was just as good – eggs, bacon, black pudding, grilled tomatoes, tea. The bar next door: a small space with a small bar. There was room for maybe 25 people, and the crowdedness added to the ambiance. Locals were happy to initiate conversation, and the genuineness of the place made me want to come back. We took a walk through the bar after breakfast the next morning to take it in one more time. If I recall correctly, some of the wood in the bar dates back to the 1700s. Overall: legitimately great. Give this place a visit, you won’t regret it.

Nice truck stop/pub with lovely, friendly staff. They make you feel right at home! There are a few craft beers on tap and the staff will give you a few tastings before you choose one. We were able to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. The food is average. It reminded me of cafeteria or canteen quality. I had the salmon with potatoes which came with a few sliced cherry tomatoes and spring onions. Slightly odd mixture of flavours that didn’t really go together that well. Mixed Grill was essentially an Full Irish Breakfast but with a pork chop. The patty on a burger came burnt. All that to say, we still enjoyed our visit despite hiccups with the food!

Family owned pub that’s passed down through the generations. Beautiful thatched roof and old school décor inside for traditional pub feel. Known for it’s beef, we gave the sirloin steak, steak burger and a couple of beef burgers a go. The hamburgers looked great and were quite tasty. The steak burger was ok, bit of fat on the meet, served with whole mushrooms making it a bit hard to eat as a burger. Came with a serve of onion rings which were delicious. The sirloin steak we ordered with a whiskey sauce which was moorish, definitely give that a good. Very tasty coffee as well! Would definitely pop by here again.

Stopped here on the drive back from ennis to Dublin. A great selection of craft beers, lovely food and friendly service. Ireland needs more places like this. Will definitely come again. Highly recommended.
