I’ve gotten takeaway from here several times. Each time, there’s a long wait for the food, but the food is always tasty. So I called in a order for 2 for collection. 2 portions of Crispy Chilli Chicken, one with brown rice, one with steamed rice. A basic order. I was told they were out of steamed rice, and ordered fried rice instead. A small thing, but annoying. How does a Thai restaurant run out of rice?
20 mins later, food was ready and collected. I got home to find one fried rice and one steamed rice. We’d been told there was no steamed rice! and we were missing the brown rice my wife wanted. A minor issue, but one that can taint the experience.
I rang to complain that they’d mixed up the rice order, as I could be there and back in 5 mins. I was told that the kitchen ran out of brown rice so they gave us steamed rice instead. It would have been nice to have been told this when making the order or when collecting the food. I was offered no option to fix this and just gave up. The food is nice, but not worth the hassle. I won’t be going back in a hurry.
I know this branch of Camile is not open very long, and maybe they’re still finding their feet. I would recommend Camile in Phibsboro ahead of here, as they seem to be a well oiled machine, and I’ve never had any problems there.
