Comfortable room although a little pokey. Heating would not turn off even after complaining. On the upside the curry was good and breakfast adequate.

Hotel rooms were nice and service was good. We were just passing through so didn’t spend much time. Would recommend to anyone but would note the front desk lady had a bit of an attitude when we checked in and was very short with us and acted as if we were annoying her. Other than that it was great.

Stayed April 2015: «Located close to the city center and waterfront» This hotel is right off one of the main roads, and off a bus route. When you walk into the front space, you are greeted by a large open area that has doors on either side going to the restaurant or bar. The front staff was very accommodating and seemed to be generally outgoing, friendly people. They even provided us with a map of Galway City, told us the last stop off the bus outside the hotel, and the bus number. They have free parking, and the parking lot was huge. Behind the front desk was the stairs, lift, and lounge area. Our room had a small hallway to the sleeping quarters that was flanked by the wardrobe and the door to the bathroom. The window provided us with a view of a vast field, and it allowed us to open it up for some fresh air. There were 2 twin beds, close together, under a large headboard with equally big mirror encased in it. On the opposite side of the beds, was a desk with just as large mirror framing it. There was a table with 2 chairs flanking the window covered by curtains. The bathroom was a decent size with normal plumbing and bathtub. The hair dryer unit was unique and reminded me of something from the 1970’s. We ate at the bar inside the hotel, due to the rainy weather: Frankie’s Bar & Bistro — which I wrote another review on.

This review is specifically for the restaurant, although the hotel check-in was quick and the staff was friendly. I was starving so I decided to make it easy and just eat at the onsite restaurant, good move! The service was friendly and I was seated right away even though I didn’t have a reservation. I ordered their west coast chowder and the waiter recommended the sirloin with mushrooms and onions over the surf and turf… and I went with his recommendations. The chowder was delicious. I am a fan of good chowder and this was good chowder! I didn’t want people staring so I decided not to lick the bowl, but it was good enough to! It was served with a fresh hard roll and soda bread. I just had a hard roll and it was good too. Then they brought out my steak, it was cooked perfectly. All I can say is that some Irish rancher and this chef have it figured out! This is hands down the best steak I have had in a really long time! It was tender and juicy, all I had to do was add a little salt and it was perfect. It also came with a melted garlic butter and was sitting I ample sautéed mushrooms and onions with a couple of onion rings on the side. It also came with a bowl of French fries. The onion rigs were crispy too. Price was on par with what I would expect to pay for a steak… but this was one really good steak! I don’t give out 5 stars, but I couldn’t think of a reason not too! Just check out the picture…

Weird place. We stayed in room 334 which was really odd. 1. we were in a room big enough for a family. Like legit there was a crib in the room.(there were 2 of us) 2. The floor in the bathroom was so slippery I thought I was going to break my head open every time I walked in there. 3. our room was RIGHT by the elevator. I was quite convinced that the elevator was inside the room and people would be walking into our room at any moment. 4. parking was a cluster f**k the entire time we were there. I don’t know if there was some sort of «stag» party going on there that weekend but there were only men in the bar. We walked through the bar going up to the room and I was literally the only woman there. It seemed like the bar patrons were locals and not hotel guests, this made it really hard for people actually staying there to park. Pros: It was clean, they had a decent breakfast and free wifi. We didn’t get to pick this place because it was part of a package we bought. If I had my choice I would not want to stay here again.

You get what you pay for at € 70 for the room. Tv from the 90’s, bland décor. And damp ceiling in the bathroom. The wallpaper could do with updating but then again so could everything in the bedroom. It was clean though. I kind of felt like I was being transported back to the 80’s overall. The carpet on the hallways coud be updated, but like I said, you get what you pay for! The staff are friendly and helpful. Most of the guests staying there were older cliental but at least that made for a quiet night ;) I didn’t eat in the restaurant but it looks mediocre. If you’re stuck and on a budget then this place will do.
