I’m generally not a fan of historic sites, but the restoration of this property is rather impressive. It’s a good place to visit in the event that you find yourself in Roscrea.

Astoria, Queens, NY
A castle sits in the middle of Roscrea center, and by the looks of it, you might think there’s not a whole lot going on. There’s a ton going on here though. I highly recommend taking a tour and checking out their gardens at the very least. You don’t have to take a tour to see the gardens, but hey, you might as well! I went in the fall, so the garden wasn’t lively, but I hope to get back in the spring or summer to appreciate it again. Great stop if you’re just looking to use up a half hour while also shopping in the area.
