Best chipper in Dublin by far. Don’t be fooled by Borza’s in Donnybrook, this is not the same. The chips are delicious, the southern fried chicken is succulent and the curry sauce is amazing. I’ve had many things from the menu over the years and have not been disappointed. The staff are lovely and it really is just an institution. I’ve made myself drool just writing this. Oh also try the milkshakes! They’re delicious.

Walking down Sandymount road. Must get milk. Bread. The smell hits you. Suddenly. Like a truck. Stomach rumbling. One thought. MUST… GET… CHIPS… Next is warmth. Smell. Nice. Warm hands on metal. Salt? Vinegar? Doused in it please. She never has to know… Jobs a good one.

Best chips in Dublin and bloody nice staff. This has been my local chipper since I was a tike and is affectionately referred to as «Bruno’s» at home, after the owner. Maybe I’m a little biased but still — best chips in Dublin 4 at the very least. Also, the Chicken Fillet Kebab must be made with crack because it’s so damn more-ish.

Good chipper. Nice chips and really good batter. I find with chippers the land over that it depends on what day you go in — guess it’s to do with the changing of the oil. Staff are very nice and friendly and the place is spotless.

One of the nicest takeaways in Dublin — it actually won a radio competition a number of years ago and got the nod for the city’s best chips. Borza’s batter work is also above par and generous portions ensure that it has built up a loyal following in the Sandymount suburb.

Ahhhhh Borzas. The name Borzas for me as a kid was eponymous with chippers as it was the only one we used to get takeaways from. Chipper-chips, chipper-chips, chipper-chips, chipper-chips! The physique of the family that run the place are testament to how good(and how unhealthy) the chips are here. They also do a good battered sausage, battered fish, battered chicken, battered onion rings, batter burger… you get the picture.

For some reason there is a perfusion of restaurant in Sandymount but only one takeaway, I really don’t know why and I suspect as the belts get tightened a little more the demand for takeaway will increase, so maybe there’s hope for the future in Sandymount… None the less the one we do have, Borzas, aint a bad one to be stuck with! It is the usual chipper fare — if you can deep-fry it they’ll sell it… actually, even if you cant deep-fry it they’ll throw it in the pan and sell it anyway… they’re good like that! I can help calling to mind that scene in the Simpsons where Mo opens the bar as a family restaurant… if you know the episode you’ll know the scene I mean, if you don’t you really should watch more cartoons. The only issue I have with Borzas is the fact that they close Mondays — there have been soooo many hung-over«I can believe I have survived Monday» evenings where I was in desperate need of a snack box and happy in the knowledge I have to wait only the 5 mins walk up to the green and have been devastated at the sight of the closed sign. … God that was a long sentence… it just shows my frustration, even at the mere memory of it.
