Charming little pub, with license plates from many, if not all, of the 50 states of the U.S. adorning the walls, & also home to the terrific Kinsale Ghost Tour. As for the ghost tour… You begin at the Tap Tavern, in the heart of Kinsale, assembling in the rear of this charming pub to learn a bit of what’s to come. Essentially, you are to embark on an historic tour of this quaint seaside town(Americans reading this might liken Kinsale to Plymouth, MA). On the tour, you’ll learn about Kinsale & its place in Ireland’s past & present, & some of its more colorful & larger than life figures, most of whom are no longer among the living… some of whom you might see resurface that very night. This tour is a delight. Your guide’s humor falls somewhere between Monty Python & Robin Williams & you do learn something. In between, there’s a fair bit of audience participation as well. The tour concludes back at the Tap Tavern, where you can join folks for a drink, or head back to your lodgings to delight in what you just witnessed.
