Nice little pizzaria/italian restaurant in the italian quarter of sligo. The smell of delicious food was what initially drew me in, and the food is every bit as good as it smells. My only complaint is the limited drinks selection: most of the cocktails on the menu are no longer available, and the real selection is on a little card on the table. I probably wouldn’t have been so disappointed if they’d revised the drinks list(or just removed it from the menu), but i’d already seen the larger listing and gotten my hopes up. The staff are very personable; at first i thought the service was a little slow, and then i realized that there was only one server for the whole restaurant(hope that’s not the case every night – that poor guy) and he was doing remarkably well at keeping it together.

Tommy is a great server, funny and had great recommendations for the menu. Fun atmosphere, Italian music with warm and cozy atmosphere. I had the chef’s pizza creation that had bacon, tomato, ham, spinach, and buffalo chicken. The Snickers-type peanut butter stack is an extremely efficient calorie delivery system that is well worth the splurge.

Fabulous pizza’s at this busy Italian restaurant in the Italian Quarter in Sligo. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, very authentic rustic Italian. Kitchen is open plan in the restaurant so you can see the chefs prepare your meal. The only thing that it lost marks for was the very long wait to get served. We had reserved a table for 8pm and arrived sharp. By 8.55 we had called out server over twice to try to order, each time we were told they would be right with us. Having worked in hospitality for many years we appreciated how extremely busy they were and paitently waited(we heard the food was amazing so didn’t want to miss out) Complimentary breadsticks and olives were given to each table while waiting. It was most definitely worth the wait. Being a huge pizza fan, of course I opted for the pizza. It was called a club sandwich pizza, topped with bacon, chargrilled chicken, fresh tomatoes, rocket with a generous dollop of garlic Mayo in the centre. It was delicious. Well worth the wait.

This was recommended to us, I can not say I will be passing on the recommendation. The food was OK the other half had a Pizza she enjoyed it I had a seafood pasta. I may be me but if a pasta is a sauce heavy one, bread is essential to soak up the sauce. The service was awful the waiter barely said two words, no offer of parmesan cheese or pepper. Never enquired if we needed anything had too chase hem for dessert and coffees. The waiter had a face on him that nearly turned the milk on the table. Wont be back.

I LOVE the food here however there are some aspects that let this restaurant down. I’ll start with the positives: the staff are really really accommodating, we visited on one Saturday and had no booking and the waitress offered to call us when a table would be free. She was such a helpful hostess and wish I remembered her name!!! The menu has something for everyone, it may have too many items and makes it very hard to choose something, however the pasta dishes are really tasty. The starters are delish too and the staff are always willing to make wine suggestions to compliment the food! Now for the negatives: it’s very pricy, especially for the starters. There are far better restaurants in Galway that charge less and have higher quality food. The pasta is not cooked fresh, I would presume that an Italian restaurant would have homemade pasta which is not the case in Bistro. It’s also very dark. This place has such potential to be 5 stars but the price and the small details let this place down.

Was down with a friend for work reasons and stumbled upon this lovely place. We shared and anti pasta plate to start which was yum yum and got chicken and bacon salad which was beyond good. Humongous portion with lots of meat and fresh veggies. Wud defo return if I was in sligo and to be honest can’t imagine not ordering the salad. Also lovely waiters and the Ambiance and lighting in the place was very relaxing. A+ from jane x

Brilliant pizza– possibly beat in ireland particularly if you’re a fan of gourmet toppings. Pretty pricy to eat in though the take away is good value. Restaurant is buzzy but the décor is a little tired. Don’t go for the pastas, but the surf and turf is good, but not cheap.

Bistro Bianconi Restaurant in Sligo town has been in business for almost twenty years. They must be doing something right. I eat there whenever I’m in Sligo. Bianconi has dozens of toppings and combinations, There are more meals than just pizza, an excellent wine list and the place is dead clean. Bistro Bianconi serves the best steak in Sligo town, and you can get it the way you like, not the usual«well-done» way so familiar in Ireland, even after you’ve asked for it rare. My only complaint is that they no longer make their delicious tomato and basil soup. I highy recommend all people going here, as I love it
