Revisited here at the weekend. An unexpected trip home to Bundoran needed a black dress bought in Sligo so mum and I braved storm Desmond and made the 30 min journey to the town. I’ve always Liked Donagheys for lunch or dinner, or the coach lane restaurant as its called upstairs, but a couple of recent trips weren’t as satisfactory. However, due to the Terrible weather and our first choice nearby being closed; we ended up in here! The pub itself is warm and welcoming and we were soon thawing out with(very decent) coffees. We decided to go for a few starters between us rather than a big meal. We opted for wings, skins with chilli, a house salad and chicken goujons and chips. Everything was OK. Just ok. The wings were a little«gooey» for my liking, but tasty sauce, the«skins» were halved potatoes, not what I consider skins to be; but the filling was delicious, the house salad was very very good but the goujons and chips were very average. The best part of the meal was the bread they served as we were ordering — a small loaf, one half chilli and one half onion and garlic, served warm and with a chilli jam and real butter on the side. Yummy.

My husband and I stopped here on our way across Ireland 2 years ago(yes, takes me a while to write reviews), and we had a wonderful meal. I believe that we ordered the potted crab, and the fisherman’s pie — and both were wonderful. Would definitely recommend to anyone in/near Sligo!

Wow! Good honest decent food! With no BS!!! I went surfing in silverstand and was in need of a good feed! I was delighted to come across Donaghys. It is on the pricey side, however the food is well worth it! Everything from the complimentary beard to the coffee was A+ :)

This is located above a pub(hence the @Donaghy’s portion of the name). You walk through and arched doorway and down along side of the pub through a charming garden area to enter the restaurant. The atmosphere couldn’t have been better… all wood beams, white tablecloths, candles. Classy and romantic without being overly fancy. Our B&B host had recommended this restaurant to us, and we rushed down to Sligo Town from Knocknarea after losing track of time climbing to Queen Maeve’s Tomb. We wanted to make sure to eat dinner here, and didn’t want to miss out. We arrived near 9pm and were greeted heartily and treated to a wonderful and relaxing dinner experience. Yes, it is expensive. For all Americans, dining in Ireland is quite expensive. But once you get used to that, all is well. Mains were around 27 – 30 Euro I believe. Their homemade bread was delicious(and we didn’t get charged for it, as some others have said). This was our best dinner out in Ireland over the course of our 10-day trip! I would definitely return.

Myself and 3 friends dined in Coach Lane recently, we had the most amazing meal EVER. The crab claws were just amazing they were so tender and succulent and well, the portions are very generous. There is a great huge selection on the menu. Also the desserts were really brilliantly done. Some of the desserts include a chocolate mousse ice lolly with gummi bears, choco tart, limoncello cheesecake. Now I got to stop now, because I’m really making myself hungry LOL! The service was excellent and the staff had a smile and a greeted us very well. Also the atmosphere was topclass indeed. I will definatley be back there again soon. I highy recommend this restaurant.
