a little bit of a drive from both salthill/​galway, but if you’re looking for some local arts and crafts and irish friendliness, this is the art pocket you should head to!
pottery: rob d’eath makes some awesome pottery pieces… bf and i bought a vase and a garlic holder…
glass: lots of glass-​blowing artists…
weavers: you can watch old-​fashioned wool weaving with the big wooden weavers… it’s gorgeous!
metal/​silver/​steel: neat jewelrey and accessories, all mostly handmade on site!
and when you’re done, stop by the café/​restaurant towards the back of the centre… trust me, you’ll thank me when you’ve eaten there!
