Sligo Airport

The cutest airport EVER! Ok, airports aren’t really cute, but this one is! I haven’t been there in a while, but from what I remember… the gate agents were very nice, and my baggage was personally carried to the plane.
I also liked that the bar was a bit larger than the waiting area. Definitely one of my favorites!

This airport is a blessing for people wanting to fly to the North West of Ireland and is convienently located just a few miles from Sligo Town in the seaside resort of Strandhill. From Manchester you can fly with Aer Arrann to Sligo on a propellor plane which is great fun but a little slower and more noisy than a larger aircraft. The view of Sligo bay as you come in to land is fantastic and you get the feel good factor before you land. On landing your luggage is transported manually into the arrivals hall which is tiny and once you pick up your luggage off you go. No crowds or waiting for the carosel. There is a bar in the airport that serves tea and sandwiches as well as alcohol and is very relaxed and friendly. Nobody here is really in a hurry.
