Forty Four

Ein gemütliches, großes irisches Pub, welches ich absolut empfehlen kann. Die Bedienung nett und zuvorkommend, das Bier köstlich und der Pulled Pork Burger ein Traum. Das Lokal ist an der Hauptstrasse die durch Swords geht und man kann auf der Strasse parken.

Ich schreibe mal einen deutschen Beitrag zu diesem Pub/​Restaurant /​Hotel.
Es ist an der Mainstreet in Swords gelegen, sehr zentral und wurde erst vor kurzem renoviert. Das Pub an sich ist immer noch klassisch, mit dunklen schweren Möbeln und gemütlichen Bänken, aber es wirkt sehr aufgeräumt und modern. Ein toller mix ist da gelungen.
Das Essen ist wirklich sehr gut, vo Full Irish breakfast for knapp 10 € inkl. Kaffee dem early Bird 3 Gand Menü für 23 € oder einfach die wirklich guten Fish and Chips kann man hier gut und bodenständig irisch essen.
An den Wochenenden gibt es viel Live Musik ohne dabei die Gespräche akustisch zu erschlagen. Alles in allem echt ein Besuch wert.
Das forty four verfügt dazu noch über ein Hotel. Die Zimmermannes modern und absolut auf der Höhe der Zeit, ebenfalls alles neu renoviert. Die Preise gerade in der Woche sehr günstig und mit dem 41er bis der nur 50m entfernt hält kommt man toll zum Flughafen oder in die Stadt.

Forty four is a re-​opened pub originally named The Hawthorne. (I love it when I get to sound local as an immigrant!!) I love how they have domestic microbrews on tap. It is refreshing to see and drink!!! The décor is homey and cozy with a bit of a modern twist with its floral wall paper and ambient lighting. As all pubs in Swords, they have a big screen that has a game on one way or another. One thing I can tell you about here is that they have THE BEST fish n chips… In Swords at least. The fries are suspiciously too uniform so I do think they are frozen but still delish. The cod… Oh my cod. Big portion and the batter is crispy and divine. Oh, and they MAKE their own tartar sauce! Zingy with lots of texture just how I like it. I always ask for extra. Service is touch and go and I wouldn’t go there to hang out, as the crowd there is a bit dull so I dropped a star but still my go to place when I want a pint and a battered cod.

From the moment we checked in until the moment we checked out we were treated phenomenally. Staff were super helpful and attentive, always polite and cheerful. The room was excellent, petite but well equipped, bed very comfortable and the washroom was great. You can’t get a better located hotel in Swords. The bar has Irish microbrews on tap and the food is very good! Check out the excellent cheese board We had a great stay and will be back again for sure!
