Wrights is one of the better places to grab a spot of pub-grub in Swords village. I’d rate it ahead of The Old Schoolhouse, The Cock, The Old Boro, and Empire and on a par with The Harp but behind The Well. Portion sizes are decent and the food is well-prepared. The menu goes through changes on a regular basis so old favourites like the ten euro steak deal, lasagne and southern fried chicken have been replaced with more exotic options like falafel and seafood tagliatelle but you’ll still find safe bets like burgers and meat and two veg on the updated menu. I’ve never had a bad meal here, but I couldn’t rave about it either. It does the job to be sure, but it always feels a bit weird eating here as it’s more of a late night venue with a young clientele, so as an «owl fogey» it’s a spot I tend to avoid after a certain hour so I feel these negative connotations may have coloured my dining experiences slightly!

Living in Swords for nearly a year and just getting around to eating in Wrights for first, for shame Darren. I have been in Wrights for a few times for the odd tipple but not for the foods. I liked the look of the evening menu, some very nice options. I went for the wok fried black tiger prawns which came in an oyster and sweet chili sauce. It was delicous and a nice sized portion. The presentation could have been a little better is all I’d criticize if for really. It came in what looked like an oversized papadum which just seemed a little stale and pointless, I didn’t touch it. But overall, a nice dish. And Wrights itself is a nice spot when not heaving with young ones on a Saturday night!

Wrights can be hit or miss depending on the crowd and your mood. I’ve had many a great night dancing the night away and getting stuck in to some yummy cocktails. However I’ve also had quite a few sicky nights here too and always say I’m never coming back… but I always do! Staff are nice. Décor is ok. Average prices.

2 for 1 drinks on Fridays! That is awesome! Went here with some colleagues and got the best Long Island ice tea I’ve ever had. Got a couple of those and a fruity mojito later — I still dream about that fruity mojito! I will most definitely go back and try that again.

Great place for a night out. The place plays a mix of different music and has a great atmosphere. Only thing bag about the place is the smoking area it gets very packed and trying to get by people can be a bit annoying.

The café is a great place to head out to in swords. Perfect after pub place. The good is good but they need more variety and better vegetarian selection. Most of the wrights locations in Dublin do not have a vegetarian selection. This is disappointing to see as Michael Wright claims to have travelled the world and yet has added vegetarian choices to his menu’s. Drink specials are decent but still pricey for the quality you are getting. But still cheaper then hitting up The Venue. Tuesday night’s — Annie Balls is a great place to be on a school night. Great addition to the diverse Swords community. Good to see someone is catering to the LGBTQ community.

I think it’s fair to say that Michael Wright doesn’t do things by half measure or cut many corners. Wrights in Swords Village is delicious! The décor, the service, the food, the value! Everything is fantastic. There are food and drink deals every night(I’d recommend the € 10 sirloin steak on a Monday washed down with a deliciously made Havana Strawberry Daquiris. Another favourite of mine is the Chicken Fajita dish. If you’re starving Marvin, have the potato skins first. The best I have tasted so far.
Bingo night is hosted by the lovely Ms. Annie Balls drag queen and is always a good laugh. In fact any night I’ve been here, the venue has a comfortable relaxed feel to it and if, on the off-chance it gets a bit wild for you, slip out the back into the wine bar and into a mojito. Fantastic place who’s staff from bartenders to floor staff to chefs are a tribute to how a gastro-pub should be run.

Wights can turn into a pretty good night club. It has a good local crowed but still seems diverse. Its a nice place to grab a few drinks and feel comfortable.

During the day this is a great spot to grab lunch, coffee, or a couple of glasses of wine. You’re right across from the Pavilions shopping centre if you want to have a browse around afterwards, too. At night, it’s a sophisticated crowd of posers. The bouncers here are extremely choosy, rude, and snotty. Guys, just note, you won’t get past them if you’re in your twenties and wearing anything but dress shoes. I’ve often skipped out on a night out here because one or two of my friends weren’t allowed in for this reason alone, oh well, it’s Wright’s loss. Girls, you’re good to go if you’re all dolled up. So, if you do get a chance go in you’ll probably have a great time! The layout is cool, the bar being central. They have a great selection of wine and taxis are queued up right outside the front door at the end of the night, where you’ll definitely need them to be when a fight breaks out at Apache right next door!
